St Mary's Horse Refuge We give our loveable horse and pony residents a happy, healthy life they can enjoy.

Our horses and ponies have come to us for many reasons some have been neglected, some need special medical care, others are enjoying their twilight years with us.

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of our beloved Toby.
At around 40 years old, Toby had lived a long life and was a firm favourite with volunteers, visitors and everyone who knew him. Sadly, he became unwell with colic and, despite every effort, he was not recovering. The kindest decision was made to let him go peacefully.
Toby was one of those ponies who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Full of character, he was well known for pulling faces at the other horses and ponies whenever food was involved, always making us smile with his cheeky expressions and mischievous nature.
He has been part of so many happy memories over the years, and his presence at the refuge will be greatly missed. While our hearts are heavy, we are thankful for the many years we had with him and for the love he received from so many people.
Run free, Toby. 🌈🐴

Toby caught mid-roll. We have recently worked out that this boy must be 40 or very nearly. He's still got it! 😍
