📨We got a letter! … “We’re going to fund your project!” 💜🤩

We’re over the moon to share the news that our application to the National Lottery Fairer Life Chances Fund was successful. We have been awarded £143,490 over 1 year and 11 months towards funding our Outreach Service. This means that we can continue our vital work empowering women and supporting women in the Scottish Borders to live their lives free from domestic abuse.

EXCITING NEWS! 📣📣 Kristina along with members of her Borders Body Balance community fitness group are taking on the mighty challenge of climbing Ben Nevis to raise funds for BWA!

Selfless dedication and support like this from people within our community makes our mission to help as many women and their families as we can live their lives free from domestic abuse possible.

We use fundraising and donations to add value to our service and to do things that would otherwise be very difficult within existing budget constraints. Community fundraising can provide unrestricted income, which is vital for allowing us to direct funds immediately to where the need is greatest.

But, fundraising isn't just about the money; it’s about connection and empowerment! It gives individuals a tangible way to make a difference, which can be deeply rewarding and even provide some healing for those personally affected by our cause.

THANK YOU Kristina and all the Borders Body Balance members for taking on this awesome challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for our service. All our very best wishes will go with you on your walk.🤩🍀

Please donate if you can and /or share this post to spread the word and help the group achieve their target.🙏

YPI Scotland encourages young people to select a social issue in their area and research what this issue means and how it affects people, before selecting a charity working to support the issue.

These amazing students from Galashiels Academy rose to the challenge and smashed it with their YPI presentation on domestic abuse and the work of our charity. Their hard work resulted in an award of £3K for BWA which will help us to help keep our vital service running! WOW! Congratulations and THANK YOU from everyone at BWA!🤩

National Stalking Awareness Week 2026 🚩

Stalking isn’t romantic. It isn’t harmless. And it isn’t something to ignore. Stalking is a serious crime that can have devastating, long-lasting impacts on victims’ lives.

It can look like repeated messages, unwanted gifts, being followed, or constant monitoring. Behaviours that might be dismissed or minimised, but together create fear and control.

Operated by the Suzy Lamplugh Trust, the National Stalking Helpline gives practical information, support, and advice on risk, safety planning and legislation to victims of stalking, their friends, family, and professionals working with victims.

There are often many barriers for women trying to be free from domestic abuse and leaving their beloved pet can be one of them. However, it doesn't have to be that way. The Dogs Trust Freedom Project offers a free fostering service across Scotland where dogs are cared for in a fosterer’s own home in a safe and confidential location. 🐾
