Better news!
Yellow Warning rain - 14 December
The latest update from the Met Office issued at 10.30am indicates that the amber warning is no longer in place, but a yellow warning still remains across most of the Borders. As this is regarded as ‘business as usual’ the MACC was stood down at 11.00am.
An update has been issued to the public via SB Alert, details below.
Yellow weather warning for rain issued
The Amber weather warning for rain which was issued yesterday (14 December) by the Met office has been withdrawn. The Yellow warning still remains across most of the Borders.
Heavy and persistent rain may lead to flooding and travel disruption.
Yellow warning – Scottish Borders what to expect:
Warning in place from 10.30 Sunday to 03.00 am on Monday 15 December Warning area includes most of the Scottish Borders Risk of surface water and river flooding 20mm to 30mm of rain possible across the warning area 50mm over higher ground Strong south-westerly winds are also expected
Caution should be taken through the Ettrick Valley due to possible flooding and increased surface water on roads
