Hope for Isabelle

Hope for Isabelle Isabelle's battle with bone cancer means she's faced major surgery and ongoing chemo.

We're fundraising for specialist rehab, a high spec wheelchair and adapted bike to help her chase her dream of representing GB in a paralympic sport.

Happy Birthday to our incredible Isabelle. Twelve today. 🧡 🎂

Last year her birthday was spent deep in treatment, tired, fragile and fighting through the unimaginable.

This weekend we celebrated with friends and family, and the difference is overwhelming.

Isabelle’s courage has carried her through the hardest year of her life.

Her recovery is still a long road, physically and emotionally, and we will keep raising awareness of bone cancer and fundraising for the support she needs as she continues this fight.

Our beautiful girl. Our hero.

Isabelle has been to Stanmore today to have the prosthetic in her leg lengthened. She has grown since finishing chemo, and of course a metal prosthetic cannot grow with her. To lengthen it she has to place her leg inside a magnetic donut, which activates the motor inside the prosthetic. She will need lots of visits to do this gradually to avoid discomfort.

There is a chance this process could reduce some of the movement she has worked so hard to regain, so she is absolutely determined to keep up with her rehab and stay as strong as she can.

Thank you so much for all of your support. It means more than you know.

Also- look at that hair! 🧡

One year on.

It is one year today since I took Isabelle for an X-Ray and I was told that they could see a malignant tumour on her femur and everything changed in that moment, I couldn't comprehend what I was being told. I didn't think she would still be here today, I thought that was it for my little girl and it felt like the world had stopped.

We want to say thank you to everyone that has supported us so far through this last year. We absolutely couldn't have done this without you. As I am thinking about that day, I especially want to thank the amazing and kind staff at the Fracture Clinic at West Suffolk hospital who had to tell me that news. They treated us with such kindness, dignity and respect. They have gone above and beyond and I can't thank them enough for that.

Isabelle is still having immunotherapy, but has started a couple of afternoons at school. She is swimming once a week, physio and a fitness session once a week and even managed a fitness session with her wonderful tri club, who continue to support our family.

It is hard to find the words to finish this, but we are still fighting and so grateful, taking it day by day. We will keep going for Isabelle.

Huge thank you artist Michelle from who sent these INCREDIBLE kicks to our Isabelle. The smile says it all.

Check out their site - and spread the love.

Each pair of shoes is designed specifically for a particular child or young person with a diagnosis of cancer, and hand-painted by a Super Artist to capture that child and all their favourite things: Any guesses with Isabelle!?!

These personal things become so important when you’re fighting a tough battle, and it doesn’t get much tougher than cancer 🧡

Today was a milestone- Isabelle started Y7 at her new secondary school.

Isabelle was true to form: brave, smiling and optimistic.
What a great addition she’ll be to the new friends she makes and teachers she’ll meet.

And look at that hair re-growth!
Keep on rockin’

Today Richard from an amazing charity .org.uk came and adapted Isabelle's drum set for her, so that she can finally reach her pedal and play again! This will make such a huge difference to Isabelle and is finally something positive. We are so grateful to Richard for doing this for her.

Remap want to spread awareness of them and what they can do for people with disabilities. They are a team of engineers who will adapt things to help with accessibility for practical things in the home, or like with Isabelle, for hobbies. They are an amazing charity and you can self refer, you don't have to wait to be referred. They could make a real difference to so many people, but they definitely need to spread awareness of the service that they provide.

Pleased can you share as it could potentially help somebody access them
