Hope for Isabelle

Hope for Isabelle Isabelle's battle with bone cancer means she's faced major surgery and ongoing chemo.

We're fundraising for specialist rehab, a high spec wheelchair and adapted bike to help her chase her dream of representing GB in a paralympic sport.

During Isabelle’s treatment, one of the things she longed to get back to was kayaking.

She has finally managed it. Out on the water Isabelle said she felt a freedom of movement, and she could even get some speed up-something that helps her adjust to the fact that she can’t run again.

Watching her do this was incredibly moving. Another brave step forward, and we are so proud of her.

We’re at the end of Sarcoma Awareness Month, and although we’re a little late, we still want to raise awareness of osteosarcoma ~ because Isabelle’s story shows how important it is to trust your instincts.

I knew something wasn’t right. I was told many times that everything was fine, and I felt brushed off as an anxious mum. The thought of osteosarcoma never crossed my mind. but thank goodness we finally got an X‑ray.
It changed everything.

The symptoms Isabelle had: simple and easy to remember:

• Bone pain- especially at night
• Swelling or a lump
• Mobility changes, limping or stiffness
• Tenderness over a bone or joint
• Unexpected fractures
• Fatigue and weight loss

These were Isabelle’s signs. They can be easy to miss or easy to dismiss.
But recognising them early can save a life.

Isabelle went along to the Haverhill Music Hub summer show after only being back with Tony for lessons for a short while following her osteosarcoma treatment.

Watching her step onto that stage was incredibly emotional. She was so nervous, yet she did it ~played flawlessly; a huge achievement after everything she has faced.

We are endlessly proud of her strength and spirit.
Thank you, Tony, for your kindness and support 🧡

This week, Isabelle reached a huge milestone and finished her treatment. Since her diagnosis in April, she has faced every challenge with bravery, humour and determination.

Osteosarcoma is a rare and aggressive bone cancer in children and teens.
Early signs can be subtle:
•persistent bone pain
•swelling, limping
•reduced mobility
• unexplained fractures.
Awareness matters, and trusting your instincts can make all the difference.

Isabelle still has a long road ahead with limb salvage recovery, but she continues to meet every step with the same strength that carried her through treatment. We are endlessly grateful to the NHS teams who cared for her 🧡

This week, Isabelle reached a huge milestone and finished her treatment. Since her diagnosis in April, she has faced every challenge with bravery, humour and determination. We could not be more proud of this little legend.

Osteosarcoma is a rare bone cancer that mostly affects children and teens.

Early signs can be subtle: persistent bone pain, swelling, limping or unexplained fractures. If something feels off, trust your instincts and get it checked.

We are endlessly grateful to the incredible NHS teams who cared for Isabelle ~ from consultants, nurses and physios to porters, cooks and every person who surrounded her with love and kindness. Their support carried her through.

have been helping us trial wheelchairs for Isabelle, especially the off road options she dreams of. This is a huge part of our fundraising because an off road chair is very different from a standard one. It needs specialist suspension, wider tyres and a stronger frame so she can safely keep up with her brother on his mountain bike and get back onto the trails she loves. All of that makes the cost much higher, but the freedom it gives her is priceless.

For Isabelle, this is about more than mobility. It is about protecting the mental and emotional ripple effect for a once very active 12 year old who still wants to be out exploring, joining in and feeling part of everything. She will always amaze us with her determination, but supporting her well being and giving her access to as much independence as possible is every parent’s goal.

Please share and continue to support.
