A friendship group based in Haverhill for sufferers of Alzheimer's & all forms of Dementia & memory loss conditions, for their carers, their loved ones & all their family members.

Tuesday 3rd November we are at Westend Church Withersfield Road Haverhill CB9 9LA 11am - 2 pm

If your loved one or a family member has a dementia type illness come & join us for friendship & advice. We will offer support if you want it too. We all have many years of hands on experience & of dealing with the GP, Memory Clinic etc & how to get the best from them!

This week Haverhill Local History Society is visiting us. There will also be the usual games and newspapers to keep everyone happy & motivated.

If you would like to become a volunteer pop in and see us. We'll make you a coffee & we can have a chat. You can see how we work & operate. There are so many things you can assist us with, you'll never be bored.

THE HARVEST MOON IS GLOWING TONIGHT!

Look up tonight, September 26, 2026 — the Full Harvest Moon is reaching its peak, creating one of the most beautiful celestial events of the season.

As the Sun sets, the Moon will rise in the east with a warm, golden glow, lighting up the autumn night sky. ✨

The name “Harvest Moon” comes from a time when its bright moonlight gave farmers extra hours to harvest crops after sunset.

Today, it’s more than a seasonal tradition — it’s a chance to slow down, step outside, and enjoy one of nature’s most spectacular views.

🌕 Best time to watch: Shortly after sunset
📍 Where: Find an open area with a clear view of the eastern horizon

📸 Photo tip: Try capturing the Moon near trees, buildings, or a recognizable landmark for a dramatic shot.

Tuesday 27th October, it's the last Tuesday of the month which means it's BINGO in the Chestnut Room at the Burton Centre ( above Haverhill Library UK ) in Camps Road. It's everyone's favourite activity with lots of prizes to be won.

It's a wonderful group to join if you or a loved one or family member has dementia. All our volunteers have experience of looking after people living well with dementia, so please think about joining us.

£2 per session attended! Yes the price is still just £2 no increase since the group started nine years ago when Sue Ryder stopped running there synergy cafe & that includes drinks, biscuits, a slice of birthday cake & all activities & entertainment.

Tuesday 20th October we are back at West End Church from 11:00 - 2:00 & we are being joined once again by a great musician & singer & huge supporter of our fantastic Dementia group. If you are new & not seen or heard Martin before you are in for a treat. He would love you to join in singing & will ask for requests. Bring your best voice along with you & enjoy yourself!

Membership is just £2 per session & open to anyone with a dementia type condition, their partners, their family or their carers. The £2 covers hot & cold drinks, biscuits, a slice of birthday cake ( most weeks) & all entertainment or activities.

We organise & do this for the town as volunteers. No one is paid a wage & all volunteers have experience with dementia as have cared for family members so have years of hands on experience. A huge asset & also have great contacts with the professionals.

TUESDAY, 13TH OCTOBER and we are at Westend Church Withersfield Road Haverhill CB9 9LA from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Terrific Tuesdays is run for people living with dementia conditions and for their partners, loved ones, members of their family & carers.

Organised & run by amazing volunteers who have all been partners of loved ones or had family members with the condition. So they know first-hand the problems & can help you to overcome them.

This week we had hoped to welcome back Mandy & Kelly to guide us through chair exercises, helping us to keep mobile & to stay fit! Unfortunately due to illness they've CANCELLED so we'll be getting the large collection of games out but will rebook ASAP!!

There is a nominal fee of £2, BUT that covers hot & cold drinks for the session, biscuits, a slice of birthday cake most weeks & all activities & entertainment. There is also a selection of newspapers!

TUESDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER & we're back at the WestEnd Church, Withersfield Road, Haverhill CB9 9LA from 11am - 2 pm for our weekly dementia session.

We have organised a first visit from Mark, one of the entertainers from the company Fred's Carehome Visits, to entertain us with music & singing. There'll be lots of singing-along, so please bring your voices🎼 🎶 🎤

Hannah from Shaftesbury is also going to hopefully pop in to speak to anyone needing one-to-one professional help with problems

We are a friendship group for people living with dementia, their families & carers. £2 pp covers your hot & cold drinks for the session, biscuits & a slice of birthday cake, all entertainment & activities, so it's affordable for all.

Run entirely by volunteers, maybe you want to put "something back" into the local community. There are always positions available for the right positive people. Pop in, have a cuppa, see what we do, & meet the team.

The group aims to help & support anyone living with dementia type conditions, their family members & carers. It's affordable for all, with membership at £2 pp & that even covers your hot or cold drinks for the session, biscuits, slice of birthday cake ( most weeks!) & all activities & entertainment.

TUESDAY 15TH SEPTEMBER Terrific Tuesdays are meeting at the Westend Church in Withersfield Road, Haverhill CB9 9LA from 11 am - 2 pm

We're playing with a selection of games as we've luckily got Hannah visiting from Shaftesbury to offer 1:1s & to answer questions from our family carers & problems regarding our loved ones & their dementia.

We are still looking for extra volunteers to join our growing team so pop in if you have an interest & want to make a real difference to many poorly people.
