The first of 2 events that we 'Shams for Humanity' and our trusty volunteers and collective...will be running on the weekend of the 18th- 20th september 2026 to fundraise money to go towards the well-being, humanitarian and educational needs of Palestinian families and children.

An Update from Shams - Event change ☀️

It is with great sadness that we have to share some unexpected news about this year’s upcoming Shams Festival.

Due to a recent change in circumstances with the landowners, we are no longer able to hold the festival at the planned site. The landowners have concerns about hosting an event in support of Palestine at this time, and despite our best efforts to find a way forward, we have been unable to resolve those concerns.

This is especially difficult because the event had already been organised and confirmed, and this would have been our fourth event at the site. Unfortunately, with the timing of this change, it is now too late to find an alternative venue that could accommodate the festival in its original form.
It is with great sadness that we have to share some unexpected news about this year’s Shams Festival.

❤️But Shams is not cancelled. ❤️

Rather than let the weekend disappear altogether, we are going to make it into a number of smaller events in different locations over the same weekend. Which we are now very excited about! We will be announcing these events on the event page very soon with our first event announced and confirmed being a Cabaret, Ska and rave night at Hippos in Swansea on Saturday. Also anothe

We’re sorry for the change of plans and for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause, and hope that you can still make it to our events that weekend!

We’ll be back next year with a new site and a festival stronger than ever. In the meantime, we’re going to keep creating, fundraising and bringing people together through smaller events.

● Saturday - Fancy dress theme and competion! The same theme as the cabaret - TIME TRAVELLER
● A Jam Space as a second stage. Please bring your instruments and get involved. Throughout the weekend you will be able to sing up for a pop up show whether instrumental, a song, a poem, a talk or anything you'd like. Or get involved in a jam with the resident musicians. 🎷 🪈 🎸
● Kids Activities so far - Bubble fairies Walkabout ● Sock puppet workshop and theatre ● Hoop workshop ● Mask making ● Face painting with Jamuna 🧚‍♂️ 🫧 🧚‍♀️
● Sunday - Ecstatic dance with Indigo.
The bar will be shut on Sunday it will be a chance to wind down, not leave hung over, and instead leave full of homemade food, cakes, apple juice pressed infront of you, and a warm heart from a day of Dub and a conscious connective dance. 🎂 🍎 🍏

There is hope and power in gathering in purpose. Saying this the roots of the cause and the reason that it is needed should not be forgotten.
Please come in love and support all those affected and displaced by conflict in Palestine. Come with a want to learn and awareness of why we are there.
With all that is going on in the world what other option is there than to unite, educate ourselves and each other, be present and aware of what is happening, and be grateful to be together in a beautiful place with beautiful people. With an outcome of raising money that will help many.  ❤️🤍🖤💚
