First aid is one of the key skills we ensure we teach all of our cadets from the very first day they join us!

And then throughout their time with us we use parade evenings to practice our skills and refresh understanding.

With a complete syllabus from Essential First Aid and CPR through to becoming an instructor our young people truly are better citizens for being Royal Air Force Air Cadets!

This weekend we traveled to RAF ODIHAM to try Clay Target Shooting! We were super lucky with a break in the weather to try our hand at shooting moving targets.

Our staff got to have a go too, sometimes they get to have a share in the fun!

Thanks to the team hosting us. We had a great day!

Wow! Take a look at what our very own cadets have achieved as a part of the Wing’s Clay Shooting team!

Cadet Hughes performed amazingly as a part of HIOWs A-Team when the attended the Inter-Service Clay Shoot where they achieved fantastic results! And well done also to Corporal Davey who is also a part of the larger Wing Team.

🥈2nd Place: Overall Team Comp (Army Cadets / Air Cadets)

These results were incredible as this was a new team, with two of the team members taking part in the competition for the first time so all the staff are incredibly pleased with their efforts and proud of the team.

Proving just why we are the RAF Air Cadets... yesterday Havant Squadron had an amazing day at 622VGS getting to grips with unpowered flight in the Viking Glider.

It was an amazing day for flying with fantastic visibility and the warm weather too.

4 of our cadets were also pleased to see our very own Flight Sergeant Cooper there to help them all day in his role as a Flight Staff Cadet.

Even our Officer Commanding got a flight!

What’s better than having one of your Cadets selected by the Borough Mayor of Havant as their Mayor’s Cadet?

Having 4 of your cadets selected as his representatives!

Congratulations to Cadet Loki Savellis, Corporal Lucasz Wyczolek, Sergeant Kamron Hart and Flight Sergeant Alexander Seager on your new roles!

We look forward to seeing you out and about with the New Mayor Paul Tansom over the next year!

It was fantastic to be invited to the Mayor Making today to see our cadets invested into their roles.

Being an RAF Air Cadet means we also learn about how to live fit and active lifestyles.

And being more than a little competitive how better than enjoying a little local competition between us and Waterlooville Air Cadets!

In one evening we fought to discover who would win at a range of games: bucket ball, rounders, tidy-up and more…

Next time we will keep score better as we’ve decided we need a sports trophy to fight over!

Happy Birthday to us!

Happy 85th birthday to the Royal Air Force Air Cadets!!! 🎂

The RAFAC turns 85 this year, started on the 5th Feb 1941, this aviation minded youth organisation has encouraged, supported and developed so many incredible cadets over the years. From leadership, flying, gliding, qualifications, shooting, sport and so so much more, this really is an organisation that you get out what you put in.

So many cadets from all walks of life have come through those squadron doors and learnt so much! The RAFAC couldn’t be what it is without the incredible force of volunteer staff, permanent staff and civilian committees so thank you all for everything you do!
