At Herts Young Homeless, we’re committed to being part of the solution. We offer work experience and volunteering opportunities, including our Youth Advisory Board, giving young people a platform to build skills, gain confidence, and influence change.

This Volunteers’ Week, we’re proud to recognise the incredible contributions of our volunteers, Hannah and John. 💜

Hannah has recently joined our Intensive Outreach team and shows real passion and commitment to supporting young people experiencing homelessness. 🤝

John helps out at hyh with maintenance and office work. He has played a key role in helping us set up our new office space creating a welcoming and functional environment that will support our work for years to come. 🔨

A huge thank you to both of you for your time, energy, and dedication. Everyone at hyh is so grateful for your support!

During her visit, Grace and Becca gave a tour and shared how we support young people aged 18–24 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness 🏠

Future Roots is about more than just a safe place to stay. It’s about helping young people build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

Jessie had been away from home for over a year after relationships with her dad and step-mum broke down.

With the help of our mediation service, Izzy worked with Jessie and her family to create a safe space to talk, understand each other’s needs, and rebuild trust step by step.

Now, they’re reconnecting and planning for Jessie to return home 💜

⭐£10 could help us answer an urgent call to our advice line, so we can be there for a young person in crisis.
⭐£35 could pay for a counselling session, to help a young person overcome obstacles they are facing.
⭐£48 could fund a mediation session, offering support, advice and guidance for a young person and their family who are experiencing conflict at home.
