"The time is now."
A skydive has been on Dorothy's bucket list for years. It's something she's always wanted to do, but never quite got around to.
Now she's taking the leap! 🪂
"I feel nervous, anxious...but also excited," Dorothy says.
Despite her nerves, Dorothy has signed up to skydive in support of the hospice she knows so well, helping to raise vital funds for local families facing incurable illnesses.
As a hospice nurse, Dorothy sees first-hand the difference hospice care makes.
"At St Clare, we don't just look after the patient, we look after the family too - physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually.
"There are so many memorable patients and families, but one couple stands out. They were so devoted to one another. They'd been childhood sweethearts and were married for over 70 years. They were kissing and cuddling right up to the end," Dorothy shares.
Originally hoping to raise £500, Dorothy has already smashed her target, raising more than £1,500 thanks to the support of her family, friends and generous donors.
Dorothy is jumping into action for St Clare at a time when costs are increasing and our NHS funding remains unchanged.
