Could you lead a lottery that turns every play into vital hospice care?

The Smokefree Generation Small Grants Programme 2026 is relaunched!

£25,000 is available in grant funding to support local voluntary, community, social enterprise (VCSE) and youth organisations working with Hastings residents.

We’re looking for your unique knowledge of your beneficiary group to raise awareness of the benefits of smoking cessation and the free local Stop Smoking services provided by One You East Sussex. Grants of up to £4,500 are available.

We are now operating a rolling programme so there is no deadline for application submission, but delivery of your projects should be completed in November 2026.

Happy National Volunteers' Week!

HVA are proud to continue to highlight Volunteers' Week, an annual UK-wide campaign to champion and recognise the contributions of volunteers.

In the lead up, some HVA team-members gave time as part of their volunteering hours to help Enjoycation build a learning garden at Jackson Hall, as well as supporting with bag drop and marshalling for Hastings Runners' annual Keith Chandler Memorial Run, which has raised over £80,000 for St Michael's Hospice (Hastings and Rother) since the inaugural race.

Please do share us into your stories, photos and insights this week. We'd love to hear and see what you are doing to celebrate our local volunteers, who contribute so much to this town.
