🍁Diabetes Week - Shining a Light on the Maple Team🍁

Last week was Diabetes Week, we want to recognise the wonderful work of the Maple Team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

The Maple Team provides specialist antenatal care and support for families with Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes, helping them navigate pregnancy through personalised care, regular monitoring and expert advice. Their role is not only to support the clinical aspects of pregnancy, but also to reassure and empower families during what can often be an anxious time.

As an MNVP, we regularly hear how much families value seeing a familiar team who understand their individual needs and work alongside them to achieve the best possible outcomes.

A huge thank you to the Maple Team for the compassion, expertise and dedication they show to families across East Sussex every day. 🍁

What a wonderful FREE resource 💜. Knowing that you’re not feeling yourself or you’re feeling something but not sure how to talk about it. This resource supports having those first conversations with your Midwife or GP. Speaking about how you’re feeling is the first step to getting help. Download this resource and start those conversations today 💜

Talking to your GP or midwife about how you're really feeling isn't always easy.

You might not know where to start or that you won't be taken seriously. That's exactly why we created our free 'I Need Help' toolkit.

It's a simple, downloadable guide to help you put into words how you're feeling, mentally, physically, emotionally, so you can have a more honest conversation with your healthcare professional. There's a version for birthing women and people, and one for partners too.

You don't have to have it all figured out before you ask for help. This resource is here to help you take that first step.

Download it for free via the link in the first comment below.

🌸🤍Last week we were delighted to work alongside ESHT colleagues and community birth and postnatal workers at a collaboration event. A huge thank you to everyone who attended. The energy in the room was incredible, and it was a real pleasure to meet so many people and hear the diverse perspectives, experiences and ideas shared throughout the morning.

The openness, honesty and willingness to collaborate made the event such a success, and we look forward to building on these conversations together.🤍🌸

Struggling with infertility can feel incredibly isolating. Many people carry the weight of hope, disappointment, grief, anxiety and uncertainty quietly, often feeling that those around them don’t fully understand what they are experiencing.

As an accredited Holistic Integrative Counsellor, Mental Health Specialist, Rainbow Baby Specialist and Infertility Specialist, I offer a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

Whether you are navigating fertility treatment, pregnancy loss, unexplained infertility, secondary infertility, or the emotional impact of trying to conceive, you do not have to face it alone.

I currently offer 6 free one-to-one Mental Health Support Sessions, available face-to-face in Battle or online.

💜 A safe space to talk.
💜 A safe space to feel.
💜 A safe space to hope.

💜Opportunity to take part in maternity research💜

A researcher from City St George's, University of London is looking to speak with people who have given birth within the last 6 months and received care from a team of different healthcare professionals during labour and birth at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

The study aims to better understand how midwives, doctors and other healthcare professionals work together during labour and birth, and how this impacts the experiences of women and families.

Participation involves a one-to-one interview (up to 45 minutes), either in person or online at a time that suits you. Participants will receive a £10 voucher as a thank you for their time.

If you are interested in finding out more, please message us on here or email us at [email protected] and we will put you in touch with the researcher.

Thank you for helping improve maternity care for future families💜
