RX sword,
formed in Hastings Septemeber 2011,

Consists currently of 7 members;
Ad Lock, Talis Mcduffy, Alice Roberts, Isabel Roberts, Bryony Leech, Rosie Leech and Hettie Dengate. With the inspiration of watching rapper dancers at Towersey festival the group decided to form with no previous experience, with the help and expertese of Dave Lock who was once a memebr of a previous all male side in Hastings, alongside Mad Jacks Morris. The rapper sword is a strip of spring steel, around one inch (2.5cm) wide and 18 to 28 inches (45-70cm) in length. There are handles at both ends of the sword, one usually fixed and one with a swivel-attachment, although early rappers had two fixed handles. The popular theory is that they were implements used for scraping the sweat from the pit ponies' backs. For more information on rapper and its dance...
