Ever tried telling your story in pictures and words? 🖊️

“The goal of comic diaries is simply to understand yourself better, which makes all the difference in getting the world to know you.”

Meet Claire Innes, trained architect turned communication obsessive, who has spent her career thinking about how people tell their stories and how to do it better.

In this workshop, Claire will introduce you to the world of comic diaries, a surprisingly versatile and powerful way to capture your daily life. You’ll draw and write from instinct, developing your own personal voice to tell your stories in a way that’s authentic, unique and completely your own.

No artistic training needed. No polished results expected. Just the simple, satisfying act of putting your experience on the page.

Words have power. Why not put them on your walls? 🖋️✨

Meet Clair Rowe, a multi-disciplinary artist and workshop facilitator with over 25 years of experience in mental health recovery and community support. Clair creates nurturing spaces where creativity meets mindfulness, and this Saturday she’s bringing that energy to Maslow in Hastings.

In this playful, relaxed session, you’ll learn simple ink techniques to create beautiful backgrounds, then add words, quotes or phrases that mean something to you. Something to inspire you on a tough morning. Something to make you smile. Something just for your walls.

There are lists of quotes and phrases to choose from, or bring your own favourites. You don’t have to be ‘good at art’. You just have to turn up.

In Clair’s own words: “I am devoted to using creativity in everyday life as a tool for self-care and personal awareness.”

This one is perfect for a Saturday afternoon.

Have you ever used writing to work something out?

Meet , writer, creator and speaker who has spent years in the publishing industry and knows firsthand how powerful putting words on a page can be. Not for publication. Not for anyone else. Just for you.

At this workshop, Grace will show you how inspiration can come from the most unlikely places: a prompt, an out-of-place object, a moment you hadn’t thought about in years. You’ll write, you’ll explore, and you might surprise yourself.

No pressure to share anything you write. No performance required. Just a warm, safe creative space to see where your words take you.

‘Writing can be therapeutic, or even an escape. I want to show others how it can enrich their everyday lives and maybe get them through some tough times too.’ Grace Latter

Did you know that drumming is good for your mental health? 🥁

Meet Denys Davydiuk, founder of Be Together Drum Circle and one of the most experienced drum circle facilitators you’ll find. Denys has run over 500 drum circles across the world, from wellness sessions and team-building events to children’s programmes, with the largest bringing together over 1,500 participants at once. His clients have included the Red Cross, the British Council, and some of the world’s biggest brands.

This Saturday, he’s bringing that expertise to Stade Hall in Hastings, and you’re invited.
