FIRE RISK IN ST. HELEN'S WOODS

Do not light BBQ's or fires in the woods - these are strictly against the byelaws.
Please be extra vigilant about not leaving litter, bottles or cigarette butts in the woods - these can all be a fire risk.
A fire was started in the woods last Saturday - thanks to Hastings and Rother Fire Service a catastrophe was avoided.
Thank you for helping to protect the woods, wildlife and our communities during this very dry conditions.

Due to base root in A hornbeam tree We have to close some paths be the Secret pond. We would ask all walkers to heed the signs and not to cross or remove them until the situation has been resolved.

Standing Up for Nature Hastings and Rother

A huge thank you to all the local residents and volunteers from St. Helen's Church who offered to organise last Saturday's Summer Event and Art Show at St. Helen's Church in support of St. Helen's Woods and Sandrock Bends.

It was wonderful to see so many people there, and a fantastic amount was raised for these important causes. Phil's plant stall was a great success!

Just to confirm, this event was not a replacement for the annual St. Helen's Woods Summer Fair, which unfortunately was not able to take place this year.

The Summer Fair is a much-loved community tradition, but can only happen with volunteers. We're looking for someone who enjoys organising events and would be willing to lead the planning next year, and co-ordinate the volunteers and local groups who make it all possible.

REMINDER! Summer Fair and Art Show this Saturday 27th June! 12-4PM @ St. Helen's Church on The Ridge.

St Helen's Church and its halls (upper and lower) will be open which will provide COOL and dry facilities. The lovely church garden - right on the edge of St. Helen's Woods - and its community allotment (which is adjacent to the Sandrock Bends site) will also be open to enjoy.

Art show, bric a brac stall, St Helen's Woods plant stall, BBQ, cakes and refreshments, games, bookstall.
