While this weather may feel like it does on holiday, we need to be keeping ourselves and loved ones safe.
Remain alert for signs of heat exhaustion or heatstroke, including dizziness, nausea, rapid heartbeat, confusion, or excessive sweating. Seek medical advice if symptoms occur.
Top tips to stay cool ❄
- Drink 1.5 to 2 litres of fluids daily, including water and foods with high water content such as melons, cucumbers, lettuce, and spinach. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and hot drinks as they can increase dehydration risk.
- Close curtains or blinds on sun-facing windows to block heat indoors. Open windows during cooler times (early morning or late evening).
- Take cool showers or baths. Apply cool water or a damp cloth to the back of the neck, wrists, or face.
