As educators and trade unionists, equality, inclusion and fairness sit at the heart of everything we do.

Our Educators Against the Far-Right conference with comes at a time when the political landscape has undergone seismic shifts.

Educators are faced with a more hostile environment, including the need to deal with racism within the classroom and in the wider community.

Adopting an anti-racist framework, myth-busting in the classroom, and developing culturally-responsive pedagogies are just some of the conference sessions on offer.

Reform-led Durham council cut off funding to the annual Pride celebrations.

So trade unions launched a fundraiser to save it, eventually raising more money than was cut.

Which means this year's Pride will be bigger than ever.

In the 1980s, the LGBT+ community raised thousands of pounds to help striking miners and their families.

When we stick up for each other, we can achieve anything.

Sometimes it’s what seems like a small thing that makes all the difference!

We’re proud to work alongside the NEU. A trade union whose members show unrelenting solidarity with those fleeing war, torture and persecution.

We welcome NEU members to Calais all year round. When they are leaving, so many of their branches ask how they can help when they are not in Calais. One such group was NEU members from London.

Having witnessed the demand for our charging stations when on site with us, NEU London members bought new benches for us.

When you think about humanitarian aid, benches probably isn’t the first thing you would think about donating. But having been in Calais, this group of NEU members knew it was needed.

Now, thanks to their generosity, people are able to sit comfortably around our phone charging station, meaning they no longer have to sit on the cold wet ground when they are charging their phone.

They even bought us additional camping chairs, tables and dominoes!

Thank you NEU London.
