Update for Sunday’s Icklesham Loop 🌿 Sunday 15th Feb 8am

We’re really looking forward to being back out on the trails with you this Sunday.

A little update — Aimee isn’t feeling up to leading the 7km guided walk this time, so unfortunately the walk won’t be going ahead. We will be refunding all walkers by the end of today, unless you’ve already let us know that you’d like to switch to the run.

The good news is that the 10km guided run will still be going ahead, led by Helen. It will be a friendly, relaxed run with our usual no one left behind approach — supportive, social and all about enjoying the trails together 🏃‍♀️

If you’re booked onto the run but can’t make Sunday, just email [email protected] and we’ll arrange a refund.

A quick reminder that parts of the route pass through livestock fields, so please be aware, follow all safety guidance on the day, and respect the countryside.

Thank you so much for your understanding and kindness — it really does mean a lot. See you at 8am at the Icklesham Village Memorial Hall car park this Sunday 💛

Good morning,
Hopefully you've all received texts/emails now but, yesterday Helen started to come down with the lurgy and I believe was putting on a brave face, I've just woken up and listening to her breath have decided its best to postpone today's event.
I'm sincerely sorry for the short notice, I will be in touch soon with a new date 🏃‍♂️

6 months time and we'll be complaining that its too hot 😅

Ahead of tomorrows walk/run tomorrow in minus temperatures here are some things to consider so you don't get caught out.

Wear layers and prepare for stopping, particularly for runners. Temperatures will be very low. Emergencies do happen, and if you or someone else has a fall, becoming stationary can get uncomfortable - and dangerous - very quickly. Read the following page for advice on hypothermia.

https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/a-z/hypothermia-low-body-temperature

Plan where the car is tonight. If you’re coming from Hastings, it’s highly likely you live on a hill. Park somewhere you know you can get out safely in the morning. Get up earlier to allow for time de-icing

Bring extra warm kit, even if you don’t think you’ll need it: gloves, a hat, spare layers, and a buff can make a big difference.

Footwear matters. Expect frozen ground and potentially slippery sections. Trail shoes/walking boots with good grip are strongly recommended.

Make sure you are hydrated and fuelled up. Thats the first step to maintaining a comfortable body temp!

Phones fully charged. Cold drains batteries much quicker especially in freezing temps

Still time to book on!
