Awww 🥰 what a lovely summer evening at the Alexandra Park Greenhouse Group we had, for our Edible Open Gardens launch party!

First a gardeners network meeting to give out site signs and brochures, plus meet and chat over a cuppa. It’s really lovely to see people making connections - sometimes with their smallholding neighbours, or people with similar enterprises or plant 🪴 passions.

Following this gathering was the launch party itself.. Hastings Project lager, beautiful local wine made by Philip Harris, a summer cocktail 🍸 all whilst wandering around the wonderful space of the greenhouse!

It’s an incredible venue and we are proud to have them as one of our 27 gardens to visit at the end of June…

If you’d like to read about all of the other venues and plan your visits - look out for this year’s garden guide at key local locations- but mainly at Wonderfill on kings road, St Leonards.

Oh and we raffled off some free tickets to Great Dixter House and Gardens thanks to our wonderful supporter- Fergus Garrett.

This year we are running a small photo competition and still have tickets for prizes…Do look 👀 out for more details in the coming few weeks on how to take part!

Lots of the event information is also on our website and you can sign up anytime to join our email list.

Come and pick up a wonderful event brochure and enter our raffle to win some free tickets to an exceptional local garden - Great Dixter House and Gardens.

We will give everyone a raffle ticket on arrival, at the launch party and announce the draw on the night.

A limited amount of locally produced drinks will be available - wine from Philip Harris (whose vineyard you can visit on Sat 27th) and beer from The Hastings Project - one of our local sustainability partners. Plus us girls at Town Grown are making a flowery summer cocktail 🍸 … what a lovely venue for summer drinks!

We are so lucky 🍀 to have so many inspirational venues to fire up our food growing - maybe in different directions - based on what others are doing. The Edible Open Garden event is all about sharing ideas and practices and it is amazing what happens by the simple act of wandering around someone else’s food growing garden!

This Friday!

Join us in the beautifully restored Alexandra Park Greenhouse for a get-together to launch Edible Open Gardens ‘26.
