That is a wrap for Volunteers' Week! 🎉

We hope you have loved meeting some of our brilliant team over the last few days. Running 1st Hurstpierpoint Scout Group is a massive team effort, and we are so incredibly grateful to every single person who helps bring skills for life to over 100 young people in our village. ⚜️

To keep the adventure going and support even more local children, we are looking for some new friendly faces to join our team.

The best part? There is complete flexibility in all of these roles. We are all about finding opportunities that suit your exact time, skills, and availability. Whether you want to pop in whenever it suits you best, help out from the comfort of your own sofa, or share adventures with the kids, we can adapt these roles to match your life.

It is Saturday of Volunteers' Week, and today we are shedding light on the brilliant team working hard behind the scenes to keep our group running! 🛠️💼

Running a fantastic Scout group takes a lot more than just the uniform leaders you see at weekly section meetings. It takes a massive team effort to look after our modern HQ, manage the finances, and handle the big-picture planning.

Sonia, perfectly puts it: whether you are helping to run our weekly section meetings, serving on our Board of Trustees, keeping the building running, or tackling maintenance tasks like grass cutting and testing the fire alarms—1st Hurstpierpoint Scout Group simply wouldn’t exist without your incredible energy and dedication! Thank you all so much for everything you do! 🙌

IT’S DAY 5 OF OUR VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT! 🌟

Welcome to Friday of National Volunteers’ Week! Today, we are taking a moment to say a massive thank you to ALL the incredible people who volunteer across our group.

Whether you’re helping to run our weekly section meetings, serving on our Board of Trustees, keeping the building running, or tackling essential maintenance tasks like grass cutting and testing the fire alarms—1st Hurstpierpoint Scout Group simply wouldn’t exist without your incredible energy and dedication! ⚜️❤️

👉 Smiley (Skills Instructor, Quartermaster, Trustee & Explorer Team Lead): A bit of a local myth! Smiley manages an incredible workload keeping all of our gear pristine, leading the Knights Explorer team, and supporting leaders across Mid Sussex. Fun fact: He was the last person from our group to receive the Queen’s Scout Award in Hurstpierpoint!
👉 Our Young Leaders: We are incredibly fortunate to have a fantastic team of 11 Young Leaders who give up their time to support, mentor, and inspire the younger generation. A huge shoutout to Alex and Charlie, who last year earned the prestigious Commissioner’s Award—making history as the first Young Leaders to ever receive it! 🏆
