The scouts are happy to offer a delivery service for local Christmas cards again this year. For nearly half the price of a second class stamp, the scouts will deliver your cards in Hassocks over two weekends in December, to raise funds for their Scouting activities.

The cost will be 50p a card and there are 5 collection boxes located at:
QD Stationery
Marchants Estate Agents
Age Concern
Hassocks Hardware
Orion News

Please bring along the correct amount, as the locations can not provide change.

The boxes will go into the shops from the 1st December service with the last collection at 4pm on Friday 12th December so cards can be delivered in time.

Tonight the scouts went out to collect the 116 bows for Hassocks Goes Gold.

We found a few bugs had set up homes behind the ribbons and bows over the month.

It was also amazing to see all the different messages written on the bows to raise funds to help fight Childhood Cancer: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/pearlpower

πŸ€– Last Thursday the Scouts had a blast at the annual return of Robot Wars!

The excitement in the room was electric as they watched their own creations battle it out in the arena. From clever designs to brave last stands, every robot had its moment to shine. It was all about teamwork, creativity, and plenty of fun.

There was lots of scouting fun this weekend.

9 of our oldest scouts walked 23km for their gold expedition, starting in Hassocks to Parkwood and then on to Bramber. Carrying all their gear for the two days and enjoying a campsite without leaders.

8 scouts then took part in the District Raft Race today. Building their rafts from scratch and racing on Tilgate.

Thank you to all the leaders and parents who made these fun activities possible.

Thank you Hassocks Goes Gold for once again providing us with a fun game to play with the scouts this evening and getting us out into the village.

Each year they to play a strategy game to see how many points they can collect in an hour, with bows further afield giving them more points. If they arrive back late they lose 10 points for every minute they are late. Our two teams tonight scored 40 and 37 points but the leaders were a minute late so ended on 30.

The scouts are looking forward to helping to take the bows down at the end of the month.

This time last month, our kit was packed, and 23 excited Scouts (plus 3 equally excited leaders!) from Hassocks were about to head off to Ardingly for WSIJ25.

What an incredible week it turned out to be!

From brilliant activities like sailing, climbing and DJ skills to enjoying new experiences like driving and mountain boarding the scouts learnt skills for life.

We were lucky with the sunshine and camping alongside the wider Mid Sussex District really helped share the jobs to run a week long camp. WSIJ25 truly had it all. πŸŒžβ›ΊοΈ

Our Scouts made new friends, shared plenty of laughs, and created countless highlights that will stay with them for a lifetime. πŸ’š

A huge well done to everyone who took part and to parents for their help and support along the way πŸ™Œ
