Thank You to Sticky Spoon Dessert! πŸ°πŸ’•

We want to give a massive shout-out and thank you to Sticky Spoon Desserts for their incredibly kind gesture. They kindly called to ask if we would like a donation of a selection of their desserts and of course, we weren’t going to say no! πŸ˜‹

The selection arrived, and we had half a dozen eager taste testers put them to the test. The feedback was nothing but positive everyone thoroughly enjoyed them! πŸ™ŒπŸ°

So, from us, it’s a big 10/10! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re looking for some delicious sweet treats, please go and support this amazing local baker. Small local businesses deserve all the love and support we can give them. ❀️

They were too shy for a picture, but we’re certainly not too shy to share a positive post and give credit where credit is due! πŸ₯°

Sticky Spoon Dessert, thank you again for your kindness, generosity and thoughtful gesture. We genuinely appreciate it. ❀️

πŸ’š Mental Health Matters πŸ’š

Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet sometimes the signs that someone is struggling can be difficult to recognise especially when they are doing their best to hide how they really feel.

Someone may appear happy, confident or like they have everything under control, while privately struggling with anxiety, low mood, stress, loneliness or simply feeling overwhelmed.

We all have our own ways of managing our mental health, and what works for one person may not work for another. Finding healthy ways to express and manage how we feel is an important part of our wellbeing. Journaling is just one of many ways people can process their thoughts and feelings, alongside talking to someone, getting outside, exercising, being creative, practising mindfulness or simply taking time for themselves. 🌱

It’s important that we learn to recognise the signs, check in with the people around us and, most importantly, listen without judgement. Sometimes a simple β€œAre you okay?” can be the conversation someone needs.

At Revive, we understand that recovery is different for everyone. We aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where people can talk openly, learn about their mental health, build confidence and access the support they need.

🌱 Look out for changes in mood or behaviour.
🌱 Make time to check in with others.
🌱 Listen without judgement.
🌱 Find healthy coping strategies that work for you.
🌱 Encourage people to seek support when they need it.
🌱 Remember that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

You never truly know what someone is going through behind closed doors.

Be kind. Check in. Listen. Support each other. πŸ’š

🌟 A Journey of Recovery, Growth & Moving On 🌟

Today, we want to celebrate two amazing ladies who came to Revive as strangers to, but leave together to a private tenancy having built a genuine friendship based on trust, respect and mutual support. ❀️

During their time with us, they have learnt from each other, shared their experiences, supported one another through challenges and embraced every opportunity to grow. They engaged positively with their support plans, attended weekly run session delivered by Geraldine from Active Lancashire, house meetings and mental health and wellbeing training but most importantly, they supported each other.

We are incredibly proud to share that both have now taken the next exciting steps in their journeys, securing their own private tenancies and employment opportunities. πŸ‘πŸ’Ό

At Revive, we believe everyone deserves a safe place to recover, learn, grow and move on no matter how long it takes. There is no one-size-fits-all journey, and progress looks different for everyone.

We would also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to Jordon from the Rossendale Borough Council, Housing Options Team for all the support she has given these two ladies from start to finish. Your guidance, support and commitment have made such a positive difference in helping them reach this next stage of their journey. πŸ’

These two ladies are a brilliant example of what can happen when people are given the right environment, support, opportunities and someone beside them who understands the journey.

It has been an absolute pleasure to have been a part of your journey. We are incredibly proud of you both and wish you all the very best as you begin this exciting new chapter. ❀️

Here’s to new beginnings, new opportunities and the next chapter. Keep moving forward! 🌱

🌿 Our planter is complete! 🌿
We're so proud to see our beautiful new planter take centre stage in the Revive Hub yard. πŸ’š

A huge thank you to Kris at Rossendale Men's sheds for his incredible skill, dedication, and determination to make a difference. Your hard work has created so much more than a planter it has helped create a space where people can come together, connect, and grow. πŸ‘

Thank you also to all of our residents who have turned up week after week, getting involved, learning new skills, building friendships, and showing what can be achieved when we work together. ❀️

This is exactly what we hoped to achieve working in partnership, a safe, welcoming space where men can connect, support one another, and open up about mental health, recovery, low confidence, and self-esteem. No one should have to face those challenges alone, and together we're building a community where everyone belongs. 🌱

The handmade plaque by Kris says it all:

"A second chance to grow, built together. Revive Hub & Rossendale Men's Shed. Because everyone deserves a second chance." πŸ’š

We couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved together. Here's to many more conversations, friendships, and opportunities to grow. 🌿

🌟 A huge thank you to Tom and Mark from Inspire Lancashire for visiting us today and delivering an informative session about the fantastic support their service provides. 🀝

🏑 We were also pleased to welcome Carl, from Rossendale Borough Council our Housing Options Officer, who was on hand to answer residents' questions and provide additional information about the support and services available in Haslingden. With his lived experience, Carl was able to connect with residents on a personal level, offering understanding, encouragement and practical guidance.

πŸ’™ Inspire is a local drug and alcohol service supporting people across Lancashire to take control of their relationship with drugs and alcohol. The team shared valuable information about the support available, offering advice and signposting to help residents access the services that are right for them.

πŸ“ We also learned more about the referral process, and residents who were ready to take the next step spent time with Tom and Chris completing their online referral forms, helping them begin their journey towards the support they need.

πŸƒ It was also the perfect opportunity to hand out our Grounding Cards. These cards provide simple grounding techniques to help people manage cravings, reduce anxiety, stay present in the moment and cope with difficult emotions practical tools that can be especially helpful for those on their recovery journey from drug or alcohol use.

πŸ‘ Thank you, Tom, Mark and Chris, for your time, knowledge and commitment. We truly appreciate your visit and look forward to continuing to work together to support our residents and strengthen our community.

πŸ’™ Together, we can help people access the right support at the right time.
