Hartfields Retirement Village Hartfields retirement village is a new and exciting community for people aged 55 plus. Located in the desirable residential area of Bishop Cuthbert.

Hartfields is a retirement village in Hartlepool. It is a community of around 300 people aged 60 plus who live in their own apartment or cottage. It has an extensive range of on-site communal facilities – many of which are open to the public - including restaurant, coffee shop, licensed bar, gym and grocery store. Hartfields is aimed at enabling older people to remain independent and live full and

active lives. It is suitable for young retirees through to older people who need 24-hour care and support.

Our residents & staff at Hartfields would like to express our heartfelt condolences on the passing of one of our regular visitors, Michelle Mason.

Michelle, who worked at Merlin Manor Care Centre, our neighbours, brought so much warmth and kindness with her on every visit to our coffee shop when she brought residents in for their much-enjoyed weekly coffee.

She always took the time to speak to everyone, sharing her lovely nature, bright smile, and genuine care with both customers and staff alike.

News of her passing has deeply saddened us all, and she will be missed.

Our thoughts, love, and deepest sympathies are with Michelle’s family, friends, and colleagues at Merlin Manor during this incredibly difficult time. ❤️

💙🌼 What a lovely evening we had on Friday..

We danced, we connected, we shared conversations, and together we raised awareness for dementia while also raising valuable funds for the Alzheimer's Society.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the evening so special. Your support, generosity, and kindness are truly appreciated. The total amount raised will be confirmed next week, as we are still receiving generous donations.

A very special thank you to our wonderful entertainer, Diane, who stepped in at the last minute after our original singer cancelled and truly helped make the evening such a success.

Thank you again to everyone who supported such an important cause - what a wholesome Dementia Action Week we have had here at Hartfields .

Our wonderful Knit & Knatter group, led by our dedicated care provider Radis, has recently created stunning tapestries to support dementia awareness and the Alzheimer’s Society's Forget Me Not appeal.

The care and time invested in these pieces reflect the essence of what truly matters: spending quality time together and engaging in meaningful conversations.

These beautiful works are proudly displayed around our Manor building, showcasing the creativity and dedication of our talented ladies.

As part of our Dementia Action Week, JRHT & Radis Care Group came together with the Knit & Natter and Arts & Crafts groups to support Dementia Awareness. Residents enjoyed their usual weekly activities with some lovely added extras, including cuppas, cake, complimentary hand massages, and beautiful organ music played by Paul — a lovely touch that created a calm and relaxing atmosphere.
Our friendly postman, Craig, even popped over to say hello, and residents were delighted to sing Happy Birthday to him as he celebrated his birthday today. The event gave everyone a chance to unwind, chat, reflect, and connect together in a warm and supportive setting.

It’s a great option if you:
• Don’t have broadband or wi-fi at home
• Are struggling to afford mobile data or pay internet bills
• Want access to online services, apply for jobs, or stay
in touch with friends and family

🧒 Want to apply or ask a question?
You could be eligible for a Get Box, if you are on low income, living alone, struggling to pay for broadband or mobile data and you currently don’t have wi-fi at home. You must live in a home managed by JRHT to qualify.
