Sending all of our thoughts and prayers to our RNLI colleagues RNLI Hastings Lifeboat Station. Everyone at Hartlepool is thinking of and sending our condolences to the crew member’s family, friends and fellow volunteers as they navigate through this very sad and difficult time.

Hartlepool RNLI volunteers were paged at 12.00 on Saturday 12th September to assist a 20ft yacht with three people on board that had suffered mechanical failure 7 miles north east of Whitby.
The all weather lifeboat launched at 12.20pm and was alongside the casualty at 1.45pm where it was taken undertow to Whitby Harbour where the local Coastguard team were waiting to assist.
Whitby lifeboat was unavailable due to the low tide in the harbour at the time.
The all weather lifeboat returned to Hartlepool and was refuelled and made ready for service by 6.10pm.

Dave and Jane Ferris who travelled by train from Manchester recently to visit Hartlepool RNLI lifeboat station.
Dave and Jane are visiting as many lifeboat stations as possible and Hartlepool was their 138th.
Dave said 'Wherever we go the volunteer lifeboat crews always give us a warm welcome.'
Having collected a station lapel badge and a fridge magnet the lifeboat supporters set off for their return trip to Manchester.

We had the pleasure of showing members of the 'Cameo Club' from Bethany Church. Houghton le Spring around the Ferry Road lifeboat station recently.
The club members have been collecting 5 pence pieces in the RNLI Betty's Pots for several months now.
Hartlepool RNLI chairman Malcolm Cook said 'It was really good to meet our visitors from the church whose donations have definitely helped save lives at sea by supporting the volunteer crewmembers.'
Church member Derek Landers said 'We really enjoyed the visit. We've had a look around the station and the boats which gave us a great insight into the valuable work of the RNLI and it's volunteers.'
