WHAT WE DO
Dare to Live is a cutting edge wellbeing and life skills programme that aims to improve the wellbeing and ease the challenges many servicemen and women experience as they transition into civilian life. As a complementary adjunct to rehabilitation and recovery, the programme also provides a safe and secure environment to support the clinical needs of participants with PTSD, depression or anxiety.

“Dare to Live helps soldiers that are struggling with trauma or a civilian life that they are not used to"

WHO WE ARE
Based in Sussex, we combine ground breaking coaching approaches with evidenced-based psychosocial wellbeing methodologies, that includes facilitated interactions with horses. Our fully accredited facilitator teams include ex-service personnel who offer mentorship and post-programme support that our clients find invaluable. WHY HORSES

Horses are an integral part of the programme as they facilitate participants to gain new insights and strategies for successful communication and relationship building. Horses are highly sensitive to humans’ intentions and feelings; they are naturally able to help participants understand how their actions or behaviours appear to others. WHO CAN TAKE PART

Current and former service personnel (and immediate family) are welcome to participate on the programme. Dare to Live considers self-referred clients as well as those referred via NHS treatment programmes or military charities, such as Help for Heroes. We also run programmes for First Responders, NHS Frontline staff, Parents and carers. Programmes are advertised for specific groups at different times throughout the year. PROGRAMME INFORMATION

The Dare to Live foundation programme is sensitively delivered as a three-day experience, incorporating an accredited and evidence-based Equine Facilitated Human Development and Learning process developed by IFEEL (International Foundations of Experiential Education & Learning www.IFEELmethod.com).
• The programme runs from 9.00am to 4.30pm.
• A light lunch and all materials will be provided.
• All participants are asked to wear strong boots and suitable clothing for outdoor activities.
• The programme is broken down into a series of 40-minute modules with a mix of classroom-based activities; and safe, unridden exercises with horses in paddocks.
• No previous horse experience is required.
