WORLD REFUGEE DAY EVENT SAT 20TH JUNE

NOMAD is proud to present in partnership with The Courage to Call it Home

The Courage to Call It Home is an immersive evening that takes you through the journey of seeking asylum in the United Kingdom.

Not as an observer.

As a participant.

Why 20 June?

World Refugee Day (21st of June) marks 75 years since the 1951 Refugee Convention, the agreement that said those forced to flee deserve protection, dignity, and hope. 75 years later, 548,400 refugees live in the UK. The average wait for a decision on their future is 21 months. During that wait, they receive £7 a day. They cannot work. They wait.

The theme of Refugee Week 2026 is Courage. This evening exists to ask what that word truly means, and to hear, directly, from those who live it.

Join us at our space at the Arc House for what is sure to be an experience that hopes to humanise, a space to showcase Courage & Connect!

COMMON GROUNDS

Nomad is proud to deliver a series of workshops at our building Arc House in partnership with Threads Lab as a part of our upcoming series of events as a part of The London Festival of Architecture!

Join us to trace, print, and piece together our shared and scattered geographies of London.

Where do you feel supported in the city?

What helps you land, even for a moment?

This session is part of Supported Cities, a citizen-led research project exploring everyday experiences of belonging across London. Together, we’re building a living map of the city through a growing visual archive of care and lived experience.

Through collaborative mapping and open conversation, we’ll share stories and mark the places that matter.

No experience needed, just bring yourself!
