One Year On... Thank You!

This month marks one year since the beginning of Navigating Grief Together – In Memory of Brian Lambert, and I'd love you to join us for a very special evening as we reflect on our first year and look ahead to the future.

When I started Navigating Grief Together, my hope was simply to create a warm, welcoming place where nobody had to face grief alone. What I never imagined was how much this wonderful community would also help me.

To everyone who has attended any of our gatherings over the past year—whether you've been with us from the beginning, joined more recently, come occasionally, or attended in the past and would like to call in again—thank you. Together, you've created something truly special.

This evening is an opportunity to spend time together, welcome new faces, and share with others what makes Navigating Grief Together such a supportive and compassionate place.

If you've been thinking about coming along to one of our gatherings but haven't quite felt ready, this is the perfect opportunity to drop in, meet some of our attendees, have a chat over refreshments and simply get a feel for the group. There's absolutely no pressure to stay for the whole evening or to attend a future gathering.

We'll also be delighted to welcome healthcare professionals, employers, community groups and other organisations who would like to learn more about Navigating Grief Together, the support we provide, opportunities for referrals, or future partnership working.

I'm especially honoured that Mayor of Harrogate, Councillor Viv Poskitt, and Tom Gordon MP, Member of Parliament for Harrogate and Knaresborough, will be joining us during the evening.

On a personal note, I'd simply like to say thank you.

Although I founded Navigating Grief Together in memory of Brian, it has become so much more than I ever imagined. The friendships, kindness and support we've shared have given me purpose and strength during one of the most difficult chapters of my life, and I'll always be grateful for that.

Navigating Grief Together has never just been about me. It's about every person who has walked through the door, every story that has been shared, every friendship that has been made, and every act of kindness shown to someone who needed it.

Because every person matters. Every story matters. Every loss matters.

📚 Introducing our Community Bookshelf! 📚

We’re excited to launch a brand new initiative here at Tesco Harrogate!

You’ll now find our Community Bookshelf at the front of the store, just underneath our Community Board. Browse the selection, choose a book you’d like to read, and simply leave a donation of any amount. Every penny raised will support our Charity of the Month.

To help as many local causes as possible, we’ll be rotating the charity we support each month. This month, we’re proud to be fundraising for Siblings Group, a charity that supports siblings of disabled children and young people.

If you have any good-quality books you’d like to pass on, we’d love to give them a new home. Book donations can be handed in at our Customer Service Desk during your next visit.

🌿 A fantastic morning spent with North Yorkshire Connected Spaces helping to litter pick around Jenny Fields! 💚

We love getting out into our local community and supporting initiatives that make a real difference. Working alongside the brilliant Connected Spaces team and local volunteers, we helped collect litter and give this wonderful space a little extra care. ♻️

A big thank you to everyone who joined in, it’s amazing what can be achieved when the community comes together. Every little bit helps keep Harrogate looking its best!

📚✏️ We’re delighted to have donated school supplies to Harrogate Neighbours Community Hub to help create pencil cases for students in need.

We hope these essentials help local young people start the school year feeling prepared and confident. Wishing everyone the very best for the year ahead! 💙

We are helping our friends at The Village Harrogate collect pre-loved uniform for the swap shop. If you have old uniform to donate, the collection box is stored in The Pantry (top of the car park) which will now be left open until the end of term, please do give or take from The Pantry whilst you visit!
Head along to the swap shop events! A fantastic opportunity to get back-to-school ready and save our planet at the same time 🌍️ see you there!
