Lifeline Harrogate - Transforming lives through housing and support

Lifeline Harrogate - Transforming lives through housing and support Lifeline works with homeless agencies, to provide people with a route out of hostel type living into their own home

Lifeline Harrogate partners with Green Pastures Housing, Harrogate Homeless Project and other homelessness agencies to bring hope to the poor and marginalised in our town. Why not come on the journey with us as we do our bit to solve homelessness in our town. We have a team of volunteers and could not do this without them! Defend the rights of the poor - Proverbs 31:9

We established our first hou

se in February 2013 and have steadily added to that since then so now we have 6 houses, five for men and one for women. We are therefore able to house and support 15 men and 3 women and give them the ability to turn their lives around, helping them to build up self confidence, deal with emotional, relationship and health issues. We also help them to find work and move onto independent living. We are on the search for the next step and are actively looking for properties.

Our amazing Lifeline team had a wonderful time at Green Pastures' annual homelessness conference on Thursday and Friday! What a blessing to be with so many other people working together to fight homelessness in our nation. It was a time of fellowship, worship, great workshops, celebration & reconnecting, and building new relationships πŸ™πŸ₯°πŸ™
We're ever thankful for the ongoing support that Green Pastures provides! β˜ΊοΈπŸ™

We're so grateful to the After Eight club at St Paul's church for their kind donation to Lifeline. Thanks so much everyone πŸ’—
We were able to join in the church's 150th anniversary celebrations over the weekend too. What an amazing achievement! πŸ™πŸ’—πŸ™

It was all action at the Hydro gym this morning! Our staff and volunteers are buddying up with residents once a month to encourage them to use the gym passes we provide for them πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺ

We believe having a healthy programme of activities each week is important for all of our residents. This is the meaningful activity board in our office which summaries at a glance what is going on and who is attending. So on the board last week we are pointing to
- Our Lifeline outing to Brimham Rocks
- Peer Support Group which was not on last week due to the outing but is on every week
- Dentaid bus being organised for resident’s dental care
- An accompanied visit to Oxfam for potential volunteers
- Georgie’s art class on Tuesday’s 11 to 1230
- The Tenancy Ready Course we run which was week 2 of 3 last week
- A bible study (purely voluntary) course
- Arrangement for an accompanied visit to the Hydro gym on the 1st of June
- Counselling sessions with a psychotherapist counselling we employ on a Wednesday for three residents

Always a lot going on!

We had an awesome return to a favourite wellbeing outing at beautiful Brimham Rocks today, a first for some of our residents, who all absolutely loved it! It included lunch at the rocks and delicious ice creams at Birchfield Farm on the way home πŸ₯°β˜ΊοΈβ›°οΈπŸ¦πŸŒž

It was great to be sharing the latest updates about Lifeline at Kairos church this morning, where our journey actually began in 2012 when Carl and l were attending the church at that time, pictured here with pioneer minister Ben, who was a key encourager and supporter for us! Thank you for inviting us Ben & Helen πŸ™ 😊

We received a really warm welcome, seeing many familiar faces and were also supported by one of our trustees, Roger, and his wife Lesley πŸ₯°

It was good to speak about Lifeline's ministry at St Paul's Church this morning, along the theme of their message from Isaiah 58:1-14. We're really thankful to Joe, the minister, and everyone for making us feel so welcome and for their great support! πŸ€—
Thank you so much for the beautiful flowers too πŸ™πŸ’

We're doing another staff shout out, this time for Luke, our Senior Housing Officer, who has just completed his first year with us 😊 πŸ™πŸ‘
Since Luke joined us he's been an invaluable member of our team; hard-working, dedicated, loyal and well respected. We'd be lost without him and are so thankful for the difference he makes! πŸ₯°

We're giving a huge shout out to Ruth, our admin & fundraising officer, for winning the Yorkshire Seniors' golf tournament after 3 days of battling! It's the biggest win she's ever had! πŸ†πŸŽ‰ πŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈ

She's absolutely delighted and we're so proud of her πŸ₯°
