Bilton Health and Wellbeing Hub (formerly Bilton Youth Centre) has been a fixture in Harrogate since 1967.
North Yorkshire Sport Ltd, the charity that utilises sport and physical activity as a driver for positive change across the county, have entered in to an agreement with Richard Taylor's Educational Foundation to become the anchor tenants of the building, and the move is the start of a partnership between the two organisations that should secure the future of the building for years to come.
Existing users have continued to be supported to access the building and new users will be encouraged to support the development of the centre as a community asset providing health and well being activities for all ages.
A longer-term vision for the centre is being worked up with the local community.
There are currently community activities taking place such as Slimming World, Harrogate Operatics Players Tap Dancing, an Arts Club, the continuation of Bilton Youth Club as well as Escape Pain Programme for arthritis sufferers.
The sports hall and board room are also available for community hire.
