This lad came along to boxing for the very first time today. 🥊

He’s recently been struggling with addiction and his mental health, and today he took a really positive step forward.

Recovery isn’t easy, and nobody should have to face it alone. Sometimes all someone needs is a safe place, someone to believe in them, and a reason to keep showing up.

Today wasn’t just about boxing. It was about connection, support, confidence and hope. ❤️

He did absolutely amazing, and we’re proud to be able to support him on his journey. One day at a time, one step at a time. 👊

There is always hope. Recovery is possible.

Another one of our members who has been with us since the very beginning of North Yorkshire Connected Spaces. 🥊❤️

She’s been through a lot in her own life, but she continues to box, keep pushing forward and support the people around her.

She’s also been involved with our boxing groups, helping others get involved and feel part of something.

It’s been great to have her with us from the start and to see her continue to move forward, support others and enjoy life.

Keep going, keep boxing and keep being you. 🥊❤️

Absolutely amazing to see this man’s progress. 🥊❤️

He was referred to us around a year ago to help support him with his mental health, and through boxing, training and the support he’s received, the progression has been incredible.

Not only has his mental health improved, but his confidence, fitness, skills and belief in himself have grown so much too.

This is exactly why we do what we do. Boxing is so much more than just throwing punches it
can give people purpose, confidence and a reason to keep pushing forward.

So proud of how far you’ve come, mate. Keep going! 🥊💪❤️

Today we spent some time at the Harrogate Homeless Project, talking with people who access the service, as well as people we met out on the streets, to listen to what support would genuinely help vulnerable people in our community. 💜

We had some really honest conversations and received lots of valuable feedback. Sometimes the first step is simply listening, without judgement, and letting people know that they matter.

We’re going to take what we’ve heard and do our very best to turn those ideas into something positive something that can inspire, give people a little hope, and help them find a sense of purpose again. 💪

Everyone deserves to feel heard, supported and believed in. One small step at a time. 🙏✨
