Update on the growing project-
With the warmer weather things in the polycrub are bursting into life. Our youngest gardeners have been planting out tomato and strawberries. They could give Alan Titchmarsh a few lessons on how to garden!

The Simon Fraser Memorial Lecture continued its bi-annual tradition of honouring the life and legacy of legal pioneer Simon Fraser, whose work helped make Scotland’s community buyouts possible. Taking place on 22 April at Inverness Town House, this year’s event featured an evening of music and conversation, beginning with a drinks reception and including musical performances throughout.

The North Harris Trust were pleased to contribute to the conversation on the future of large-scale estate management in community ownership. Our very own Michael Hunter, explored the importance of ecological regeneration and forward-thinking approaches to land management planning.

This week saw the scraping and ditching of around one mile of the old Urgha-Marig road, now known as the Hebridean Way. What was a bit of a bog a few days ago should dry out nicely in the promised good weather next week. A collapsed culvert at the Marig end has been dug out and temporarily left open - it will be piped on Monday. A route that is well worth an explore if you get a chance. Cuairt math dhaibh!
