What a lovely and varied day we had on Tuesday with our Oddfellows friends.
Although our Watford CM sing along was a little quieter than usual, it certainly did not lack spirit. We enjoyed some wonderful tunes together, plenty of singing, and even more importantly, some truly fascinating conversations and laughter.
One of the highlights of the afternoon was discovering that our lovely long standing member Margaret is an incredible 94 years young. Honestly, none of us could believe it. She looks amazing and has such a wonderful sparkle about her. Margaret had us all laughing as she proudly showed us how she has been using AI on her phone. She transformed photos of herself and her daughter into Minnie Mouse characters, turned her dog into Donald Duck, and even created pictures of her friends as glamorous can can dancers. The joy on her face as she shared them was infectious and we all thoroughly enjoyed the moment with her.
Later in the day, I headed over to Harlow for a meeting with the Latton Ladies, where we welcomed members of Razed Roof. They are currently working alongside The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust on a very important and thoughtful project for next year’s production, *Well Well Well*. The discussion centred around people’s experiences with healthcare in Harlow and opened up some honest, heartfelt and at times very funny conversations too.
A special thank you to the Latton Ladies who kindly donated their subs money to Razed Roof to support the wonderful work they are doing in our community. Such a lovely gesture. 💜
It was one of those days that perfectly reminds you what Oddfellows is all about. Friendship, community, shared stories, laughter, support and making meaningful connections at every stage of life. 💜
See you all soon,
Louise.
