We are looking forward to seeing you today at West Essex Learning Disabilities Festival.

At Harlow Rugby Club

Time : 11am -3pm

We are bringing slime making so if you are at the event come and visit our stand.

๐Ÿ˜Ž๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‘’๐Ÿงข๐Ÿฅ›Today will be hot !
Please take care and remember
sun cream
Hat
To hydrate / drink water / soft drinks /ice lolly
Take time in the shade /indoors
If its too hot for you stay home do what's right for you

It can be lovely to have the sunshine ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž
But we need to also be mindful that heat and the sun can have hidden impact and that people of all ages may not always stay hydrated and cool because body signals aren't clear or are preoccupied in deep focus or for many other reasons

That heat can be triggering sensory wise and can leave us feeling overwhelmed.

Make things visual - a drink in sight /reach / ice lollies
Prompt if relevent or set yourself a reminder/timer
Accept comfy clothes choices
Accept sunglasses indoors, curtains closed,
lower demands

Some medications can also impact how our bodies manage heat so seek advice from gp or pharmacist if you have questions. .
