Parents and Family carers - A free course
Available across Essex for families with children and young people who are Autistic/ have Communication differences- no formal diagnosis needed to access this .

Good Beginnings is now avaliable for Parents / Carers of children and young people of different age groups all the way upto 19 years !

Good Beginnings Series:

• Good Beginnings: ages 0 to 5
• Beyond Good Beginnings: ages 6 to 13
• Good Futures: ages 14 to 19

Together, they provide practical advice, guidance and support for families of autistic children and young people.

Families can build their knowledge, confidence and skills at every stage of their child's journey.

We have two fundraising events coming up in September

12 th September Fundraising Dance
26th September Quiz night.

Take some time for yourself and have some fun whilst raising funds for a local charity - no connection to PACT needed to attend these events - feel welcome

PACT for Autism relies on grants, fundraising activities and donations to deliver it's support

Your attendance at these events makes a difference to the support and services we can provide

Back to Education
Thinking of all our families and young people this week , knowing its often one if the most impactful weeks in the year for you all, whether you are at home, home educating, Eotas, starting a new class , school ,college or waiting on placement .
We are thinking of the education staff too who are getting to know families and young people, settling everyone into a new educational year .

Going back to education -

What changes and what stays the same?

Finding / having things that stay the same can be helpful.

Pre loved uniform/ or new but washed a few times and put in the draw so it looses the new smell and feel.
The same lunch box
Favourite fidgets
The arrangements for access to the bathroom / breaks
Something that smells like home ...

If educating from home the spaces that have been busy through the summer will start to go back to usual feel.

Will the same people be there?

Having a cloth that goes on the table when it's education time and comes off when it's not so that work doesn't appear from nowhere!

What will happen after education time ?
Ease into new outside activities .
Lower demands..

Some predictable sameness ...

PACT Picnic Cancelled

We are sorry to say that our PACT Picnic has to be cancelled due to the predicted poor weather as we don't have any shelter at the site.

We understand that changes can be hard, but we feel this is in everyone's best interests.
