BLOSSOM's four beautiful babies are 4 weeks old today and are having lots of fun getting up to no end of mischief!
Mum Blossom is not very impressed that they are now free range and says they were absolutely fine tucked up out of the way in the kitten pen! Janet has tried explaining to Blossom that her children need to run, jump and practise stalking and pouncing to learn and strengthen their muscles but Blossom's not convinced - sorry Blossom! 😬😸
Over the next few days the kittens will have their first taste of solid food and will be testing out the tiny kitten litter trays! πŸ€—β€οΈ
We will bring you another update in due course!

Good morning everyone 😻
********************************************
Thankfully it's a bit cooler today! I know we shouldn't complain but keeping rescue kittens and cats cool in this heat has been tricky!

MAGGIE's babies are now 2 weeks old and have grown so much! Fosterer Jess has been able to weigh them (and have cuddles!) while Maggie was having her lunch and their weights are spot-on for their age😻
We are very relieved that they are doing so well after a tricky start to life. Well done Maggie and Jess! β€οΈπŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›πŸ˜½

We would like to say a heartfelt THANK YOU to our supporter Faye who donated Β£178.88 to us today from sold items belonging to her late mum-in-law Madeline, who passed away last year. Madeline met Peter (our colleague who passed away 4 years ago) many years ago when he DJ'd at both her son's weddings and she loved cats and singing, so Faye thinks she would approve of the donation!
We have made a promise that the next female rescue cat that comes through our doors will be named Madeline in her memory.β€οΈπŸˆπŸˆβ€β¬›β€οΈ

Beautiful MAGGIE arrived with us at the end of April. Another young stray, no more than 10 months old, unfortunately very thin and heavily pregnant πŸ˜”
She kept fosterer Jess waiting and guessing as to when her family would arrive and eventually gave birth to 5 babies in the middle of May.
The birth was very difficult and traumatic for Maggie and she very sadly lost one of her babies. Maggie and her four remaining babies were kept at Fyfield Village Vets for a couple of days as Maggie seemed to be rejecting her babies and did not want to feed them. The kittens were all very tiny and were bottle fed in between attempts to encourage Maggie to accept them. The vet staff’s brilliant efforts eventually paid off and Maggie overcame her resistance and accepted her babies and began to feed them.
Our vet coordinator Debbie monitored the family overnight and the babies were given supplementary feeds until we were sure that Maggie was confident enough to take over the full time care of her babies. ❀️
MAGGIE has now turned into Supermum and is not taking her eyes off her babies, who are now 11 days old! She is fiercely protective of them and they are thriving! Their eyes are open and they are gaining weight. We are hoping that when the kittens are a few weeks old, and on the move, fosterer Jess will be able to start socialising them and get hands-on. But for now, Maggie is making up for lost time and that’s fine by us, we will go at Maggie’s pace and let her lead the way! 😻
Our heartfelt thanks to fosterer Jess and all the staff at Fyfield Village Vets for helping Maggie at such a vulnerable time.
We will keep you updated on this special little family in due course.

😻🩷 Happy sunny Friday everyone! HAPPY NEWS!!! 😻🩷
*************************************************************
GEM and her 9 beautiful babies (who are now 12 weeks old) were all taken to Fyfield Village Vets yesterday for their second vaccinations and microchips. GEM stayed at the surgery to be spayed and all went well for her. After three litters at just 18 months old, there will be no more babies for her! 😻🩷

We are also absolutely thrilled to let you know that GEM and her smallest kitten TINA have now been RESERVED to go to a really lovely home together in 10 days time once Gem has completely recovered from her op. We are so happy that this beautiful girl, who has been through such a lot in 18 months, has found her happy ending. She deserves so much more in life and we know she is going to be thoroughly spoilt in her new home with her daughter to keep her company! β€οΈπŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆβ€β¬›β€οΈ

Gem's other 8 kittens have all been reserved in pairs and will go to their fabulous forever homes over the next week!

Little 6-month-old NORA has been doing so well with her babies, who are now two weeks old! She is extremely young to have kittens - being just a kitten herself - and the first two weeks of quiet bonding have been crucial to the well-being of her babies. We have been monitoring her, and she has proven to be a great little mum, very attentive to her four beautiful babies who are thriving and are gaining so much weight that we wonder if they are sneaking out of the kitten pen and eating mum’s food overnight! 😻❀️
The little family are with our fosterer Janet who has given Nora the new name of BLOSSOM and her babies have also been given flowery names: VIOLET, DAISY, HOLLY and POPPY! 😺🩷
We will update more on this cute little family in due course.
No applications for adoption yet please.

Still looking for a forever home - TIM πŸ’™πŸ
*********************************
5-year-old tabby TIM has been with us since December last year! πŸ™€β€οΈ He had been badly neglected and was suffering from a whole-body skin infection brought on by flea infestation. He was extremely thin and malnourished and was also found, on X-ray, to have an old back injury, which our vets say was most likely from a road accident.
Despite all this, TIM has surprised us all with his infectious zest for life and friendliness to anyone and everyone around him! He has slowly recovered and is now at his ideal weight and has lovely skin and fur. His old injury has left him a bit wonky and his back legs make him look like he has just got off his horse! But this does not bother TIM and he demonstrates this daily with zoomies, climbing up his scratch tower and playing hide and seek with fosterer Janet! His love of life is so lovely to see!
He loves his food and has a good appetite. He also loves to cuddle on a lap and sleeps soundly all night at the end of fosterer Janet's bed! πŸ€—β€οΈ
TIM is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. His ideal home would have a very safe protected garden with no dogs.
A home check and adoption fee will apply.

We are so happy to say that 8 of Gem's beautiful babies have now been RESERVED and will shortly go to really wonderful forever homes in pairs! πŸˆπŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆπŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆπŸˆβ€β¬›πŸˆπŸˆπŸ˜»

Supermum GEM is now on the lookout for a fabulous new home and would like to take her remaining baby with her! TINY TINA is the smallest of Gem's nine kittens and had two mums to feed her - Gem and fosterer Jenny, who helped with supplemental feeds and cuddles! πŸ’ž

Tortoiseshell GEM is just under 2 years old and is such a beautiful, mild-mannered girl. Nothing seems to phase her - not even having 9 babies all at once! She loves a cuddle and a fuss and gives headbutts and lovely kisses! She will be spayed next week and have her second vaccinations and microchip.
TINY TINA is 10 weeks old and will also have her second vaccinations and microchip next week. Her adoption will include a neutering voucher which will ensure she is spayed with one of our vets when she reaches the correct age/weight.

If you think you would be purrfect for this very cute mum and baby pair, please contact us by Facebook message or email us at [email protected].
A home check and adoption fee will apply.

Little six-month-old NORA has given birth to four babies overnight!
The babies are a good size and feeding from mum and little Nora is eating well and very attentive to her brood.
This is a very vulnerable time for Nora as she's so young. We will update you on her progress in due course! ❀️
Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend everyone.
