The fly by will take place at 8pm sharp!

Please remember to wrap up warm and bring cash (there will be a card machine but the signal is touch and go).

Starts at 6.30pm, beacon lit at 9.45pm.

⭐️ ✈️ With just under 24 hours to go until The Hanmer D-Day Beacon, we wanted to announce a surprise. Our friends from Shropshire Aero Club have kindly offered to do a fantastic fly by over the mere, in an authentic Avro Anson aircraft! ✈️ ⭐️

⭐️ Not long to go until The Hanmer D-Day Bake Off! ⭐️

Three Categories to enter, so something for everyone:

🧁 Under 12’s- D-Day Cupcakes
You could bake camo cupcakes or fill your creations with flags, the options are endless…

🍰 Technical Challenge- Ration Cake
Have a go at a traditional ration cake recipe and see if you can create something delicious with limited ingredients. For more inspiration check out the link below:

🎂 Showstopper- Admirable Allies
If you fancy getting creative then try our showstopper challenge! From terrific tanks to fantastic flags or even a tradtional bake from one of the allied countries, the options are endless…

**The Hanmer D-Day 80 Bake Off**

As part of our D-Day 80 celebration on Thursday 6th June 2024 we will be holding a bake off competition!

Anyone is welcome to take part, simply drop off your creation at the bake off tent and register- it's free entry!

There are three categories:

Under 12's- "D-Day Cupcakes"
Technical Challenge- “Ration Cakes”
Showstopper- "Admirable Allies"

The competition will be judged by a panel of four local judges and the winner will be announced at 9pm.

Plenty of prizes for each category!
