It's 4 days until Castle Capers 2026 kicks-off!

This morning lead producers Dot and Paul took the Scout cast members Rehaan and Libby onto Lee Blakeman's Breakfast Show on BBC Radio Stoke, where they brilliantly promoted the show 🎙

It’s exactly 1 week until Castle Capers 2026 begins! 🤩

Whilst the cast have been rehearsing, the other members of the Capers team have been working hard - especially our backstage helpers and costume makers! The show really wouldn’t be possible without their support ❤️

The last week of regular rehearsals is done, so to wind down some of our cast took to the pub (they even wore their costumes)! Next up for the cast however... is the dress rehearsals 🎭

Seeing as we introduced the cast last week, now I think we should show-off our Young Producers... Millie and Neave!

Despite being Explorers they've been indispensable to the Capers '26 team - with Millie producing the Beaver items whilst Neave has had responsibility for choreography 💃🕺 It's really great to see talent from inside the District progress the future of Gang Show in Newcastle!

This little boy is named Wyatt - and we're delighted to count him among our cast for Castle Capers 2026! Wyatt was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in July 2022 when he was just 2 ½ years old. After receiving chemotherapy, he 'rang the bell' in December 2025, signifying the end of his treatment 👏

We at Castle Capers have decided to celebrate Wyatt's recovery by raising funds on his behalf for the University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM), to give back to the place where he received most of his treatment. Kind people like Carole and Kate from the Lions Club International have even helped towards the fundraising by donating a hamper for Wyatt to raffle-off! If you too want to help us and Wyatt support UHNM for their amazing work, we will be collecting donations the week of the show (31st March - 4th April) in the Mitchell Arts Centre foyer ❤️
