The power to connect.

The power to give a young person a VOICE when they can’t find the words to express how they’re feeling.

At SOUND ADVICE MUSIC STUDIO, we believe music is so much more than creating beats, recording tracks or learning to rap and sing.

🎧 It’s about PURPOSE, POSSIBILITY & POTENTIAL!

For some young people, music is an escape from the pressures of everyday life.

For others, it’s a safe space to express emotions, process difficult experiences, discover hidden talents and build their self-worth.

And for some, it could be the very thing that changes the direction of their future. ❤️

🔥 A young person who struggles in a classroom might come ALIVE behind a microphone.

🔥 A young person battling low confidence might discover they have something powerful to say.

🔥 A young person who feels unheard might finally find their VOICE.

🔥 A young person facing disadvantage might discover a passion that opens doors to new skills, friendships, opportunities and even a career!

THAT’S WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO! 🙌

Through our SOUND ADVICE MUSIC STUDIO, based at Cross Rhythms City Radio and supported by Youth Music, we’re creating opportunities for young people to explore their creativity, develop their skills and realise that their voice MATTERS!

Because sometimes it’s not about producing the next superstar…

It’s about helping a young person believe they are WORTH something, that they BELONG somewhere and that their future has POSSIBILITIES. ❤️

🥲💔 IT’S HAD ITS DAY… AND WE REALLY NEED SOME HELP! 🙏🚗

Over 8 years ago, Autonet Insurance Group did something incredibly kind — they donated a second-hand car to us here at Ruff & Ruby.

And that little car has WORKED. ❤️

It’s carried equipment across the city.
It’s got our team into schools and communities.
It’s helped us deliver youth work to thousands of young people.

And, thanks to Stoke Signage wrapping it, it’s helped us shout about our work everywhere it goes!

👊For a smaller, grassroots charity like ours, that matters.

We don’t have huge corporate marketing budgets or endless unrestricted funding.

We put what we have into young people, opportunities and changing lives.

But sadly… our faithful charity car has finally reached the point where we have to say enough is enough. 😢

We recently took it to Motor Clinic in Longton and spent another £1,500 getting it repaired.

Just a few weeks later, we’ve been told it needs around another £1,000 spending on it — on a car now worth only around £400–£500.

As a charity, we simply can’t justify continuing to pour precious unrestricted funds into it.

So, after trying quietly for months to find some help, we’re putting the ask out publicly. 🙏

🚨 COULD YOU OR YOUR BUSINESS DONATE A VEHICLE TO RUFF & RUBY?

Perhaps your company has a vehicle coming to the end of its fleet life?

Perhaps you’re changing vehicles and would consider donating your old one?

Or perhaps your business is looking for a meaningful CSR / social-value opportunity where you can actually SEE the difference your support makes? And could offset tax against it ?

Our dream would be a safe, reliable 9-seater people carrier, because our team has grown and we increasingly need to transport young people to activities, events and opportunities.

But honestly, a reliable car would be a massive blessing too. ❤️

It doesn’t need to be new.
It doesn’t need to be fancy.
It just needs to be safe, reliable and ready to help us keep moving.

And we want to give something back.

We’re hugely grateful to the AWD-IT team for using their platform to raise awareness of our charity and the work we do with young people across Stoke-on-Trent — creating opportunities, building confidence, supporting wellbeing and helping young people discover their potential. ❤️

When local businesses use their reach to champion young people and the organisations supporting them, it makes a real difference.

🔥 UTH CITY — MAXING OUT ON PURPOSE & OPPORTUNITY

What if tackling the NEET agenda talked about on the news BBC News ITV News Sky News wasn’t simply about asking young people, “What job do you want?” — but helping them discover who they are, what they’re capable of and where they could go next?

That’s exactly why we created UTH CITY. 📲 a purpose driven one stop shop for every young person in collaboration with local businesses bwar & third sector organisation SOTYouthCollectivecollective

We have piloted & launched this in Stoke-on-Trent as a dynamic blueprint - a youth app that puts opportunity directly into the hands of young people — connecting them not only with support , resources , activities and featuring a unique su***de prevention button with pathways into employment, apprenticeships, education, training, volunteering, careers, local services and real-time opportunities.

But UTH CITY goes further.

Because becoming NEET — not in education, employment or training — is rarely just about the absence of a job vacancy.

Young people can face barriers around confidence, mental health, aspiration, access to information, networks and simply knowing where to start.

UTH CITY brings those worlds together: wellbeing + opportunity + youth voice + progression.

🚀 One young person.
📱 One accessible digital front door.
🎯 Multiple pathways forward.

Our ambition is simple: no young person should miss an opportunity because they didn’t know it existed.

We want young people not simply accessing opportunities, but MAXING OUT on them — discovering their purpose, building their skills, raising their aspirations and taking ownership of their future.

Because tackling NEET isn’t just about getting a young person into something.

It’s about helping them find PURPOSE, DIRECTION and a pathway that can genuinely change their trajectory.

This incredible blueprint and now real life app on Apple & Android was co - designed by young people , for young people .

At Ruff & Ruby youth charity we know this could be powerfully rolled out all across the uk as the digital one stop shop for each local area & community allowing EVERY YOUNG PERSON access to the support & direction they Need .

Just wanna give a HUGE shout out to our incredible trustee here at Ruff & Ruby .. our QUEEN of all .. Mrs Kay Speedman- This lady is beautiful inside & out , faithful , loving & kind & blows our mind with her passion to support us as a team and young people across the city ! 🔥🔥🔥

Kay’s daughter Caitlin took her own life at the age of 20… as Ruff & Ruby last year we delivered 121 ‘ WORTHY’ self worth & su***de prevention sessions for girls across the city - THIS SEASON we are rolling out a phenomenal WORTHY WORKSHOP/ ROADSHOW for all girls ages year 6 , high schools colleges & community groups in positive mindset & su***de prevention featuring our fab youth delivery team & our new girl band DOTK (dotk_official ) 🦋💙🦋
