South Lanarkshire Tenants Development Support Project

South Lanarkshire Tenants Development Support Project Supporting tenants throughout South Lanarkshire to influence housing services, standards, and policies.

The South Lanarkshire Tenants Development Support project is a partnership between local tenant groups/federations/movements, South Lanarkshire Council, and the Tenants Information Service (TIS). Funded by the Council, the Project was established in 2002 and strives to ensure that tenants are at the heart of landlord consultation and participation approaches. Our aim is simple, we want to maintain

a meaningful role in shaping the housing services that tenants throughout South Lanarkshire recieve. We support a variety of tenant groups throughout the local community, providing invaluable feedback, and work tirelessly to deliver the best possible standards.

🙌 The Customer Scrutiny Group has been working with Housing Services since 2016 to help improve services for tenants.

🙌 Reaching 10 years of scrutiny is a fantastic achievement and a real landmark for everyone involved!

🙌 The group’s most recent scrutiny exercise, focusing on the Role of the Housing Officer, will be presented to the Resource Management Team later this year.

Would you like to get involved and help shape housing services?

📢 Have your say on the future of tenant participation in Scotland
TIS is inviting tenants to take part in our State of Play research, a major national project exploring the current state of tenant participation in Scotland.

These workshops are an opportunity to:
- share your experiences and perspectives
-discuss what's working well and where challenges exist
-meet and learn from other tenants

We're keen to hear from tenants at our in-person workshops:
Glasgow- Wednesday 22 July, 2pm-4pm
Edinburgh- Wednesday 29 July, 2pm-4pm
Aberdeen- Monday 3 August, 2pm-4pm

We're especially looking to increase attendance at the Aberdeen workshop, so please help us spread the word to tenants in the area.
Can't make it in person? Join our online tenant workshop on Tuesday 14 July, 6.30pm-8pm.

To help remove barriers to participation, reasonable travel expenses will be covered for tenants attending the in-person workshops.
👉 Find out more and register here: https://tis.org.uk/state-of-play-research/ or contact [email protected] or 0141 248 1242

Local groups can now register, get approved, and submit up to three requests for support. Whether it's something you've asked for before or a new idea, this is a great opportunity to connect with suppliers who can help.

Most support requests are typically between £250 and £1,000, so keep your request realistic and clearly explain how it will benefit your group and community.
