What’s App Group

It has been suggested that we have a village What’s App group.

I believe that C**k Road already have one, so if School Road would like to set one up that is possible or we can can have a full Village one as well.

A writer and lecturer is encouraging people to reconnect with wildlife through renaturing.

We were sent this lovely old picture by John McGlashan who used to work at Gages Farm.

The picture shows the farmhouse of Lees Farm which was sadly demolished in the 70’s.

The timber barn survived until the gales of 1987 when it blew down. John says that he saved the timber and reconstructed it to live a new life!

On Tuesday evening we were delighted to welcome former Parish Council Chairman Bill Piper to officially open our new play equipment.

The equipment has been three years in the planning, of which Bill was a driving force, and so it was only right that that he got to cut the ribbon, and (after a test drive by his grandson Sebastian) also took a trip on the zip wire!

The equipment was partly grant funded and our thanks go to Paula Sillet and Claire Mullineaux for finding and submitting the grant applications.

Alongside opening the equipment, a presentation was made to Bill for his long service on the PC.

We hope that villagers will enjoy the new additions to the playing field, which were chosen to appeal to as wide a range of ages and abilities as possible.

Hopefully the children that kick started all of this with their letters all those years ago will give the zip wire a try……
