To All HPS Members and Potential New Members

We just want to remind you that on the evening of Tuesday the 18th of August, Halifax Photographic Society will be holding a Photo Walk in and around the Akroydon and the Dean Clough Mill areas of Halifax.

This will be a circular photo walk starting and finishing from outside All Souls Church, Hayley Hill, Halifax, HX3 6DR and taking in several key parts of the historic model village of Akroydon and scenes around Dean Clough made famous in the photographic work of Bill Brandt. When it comes to walking, we aim to offer alternative photo walk routes to suit people of all abilities.

The walk is open to all existing HPS members and potential new members. We plan to meet at All Souls Church at 7.00 pm, sunset being at around 8.30, weather permitting. The forecast is fine if a little cloudy after light rain in the early morning.

Potential new and previous members are welcome and encouraged to join us on the photo walk, meet existing members of our club and share our mutual interest for all things photography. Whilst on the walk chat to current members about what our club can offer or just pick up tips on any aspect of photography you are interested in.

If you want more information just message via this page or use the contact facility on our website:

Another subject many would have walked past, perhaps I should have, but in the end I didn't. Glad I didn't. Mundanity at its best (or worst).

Can't imagine they will be comfortable to sit on?

Another opportunity to focus on and make something from the everyday. I think the balance in this image is key.
