General information
The work of the Ovenden & Mixenden Initiative and North and East Ward Forums Team is to provide support to local people in the wards of Illingworth & Mixenden, Northowram & Shelf, Ovenden, and Warley (including Pellon) and to represent these communities in Calderdale wide strategic plans, and advising service heads about how things work at a local level. The team includes Ward Link Workers and Community Wardens and we regularly work with other front line services including staff from the Police, Pennine Housing, Calderdale Council, Sure Start and Fire Service to join up local service delivery. The offices in Ovenden and Mixenden are open 5 days a week for general and some specialist advice and we provide community information via the Halifax North & East Blog, local newsletters and small scale events and celebrations.
