Yorkshire Children's Trust was created to support the emotional and financial needs of local children in the region through four themes of support. The emotional support includes counselling/play therapies and free respite breaks, not just for the child, but the whole family unit to promote positive mental health. The financial support channels include a Hospital Stay Grant to help cover the extra
things of having a child in hospital, including parking charges, travel costs and extra niceties for the child such as magazines or arts and crafts. The second financial support channel is the 50:50 Grant which helps cover up to half the cost of expensive but needed items such as wheelchairs, specialist car seats etc. The charity receives no direct funding from the Government, NHS or Lottery and relies heavily on the support of great local people and businesses to be able to provide our essential services to some of the most needy children in our community. Yorkshire Children's Trust also has strong green credentials, helping to raise funds through green recycling initiatives to prevent clothing and other items ending up in landfill. As you will appreciate, not only has two years of restrictions through the pandemic had an effect, we now face a cost of living crisis and we need your help more than ever to help support children who would otherwise fall through the gaps in support.
