**When Madni Masjid Leadership threw "Pillar of our Community", Faisal Shoukat under the Bus*

On 24 October 2025, just a few days after the commencement of former councillor Faisal Shokaat’s trial, the Imam made a dua after Fajr for a loved one who had passed away in Pakistan.

A worshipper took the opportunity to request a special congregational dua for Faisal Shoukaat innocence at the COVID trial at Jumma.

The Imam was visibly surprised. At that moment, Rashid (Arshad aka Franky’s brother) intervened. Neither the Imam nor Haji Sultan recognized Faisal Shoukaat. Both leaders stared at Rashid with utter confusion and guilt.

Rashid, employing a form of reverse psychology, asked the worshipper, *“Who is Faisal Shoukaat?”* The worshipper replied, *“The former councillor and the masjid funeral director.”* Rashid responded, *“We’ve not heard of him,”* leaving the Imam shocked and Haji Sultan silent with guilt.

This incident reflects the state of our masjid leadership. Leaders who once praised Faisal Shokaat failed to recognize him once he became embroiled in the COVID fraud trial. A simple dua—a small act of prayer—was too much for them. *The masjid, in effect, threw him under the bus.*

This is mirrored in the RT Diagnostic COVID fraud trial, where all five co-defendants are *blaming each other to escape responsibility.*

While the COVID fraud trial is at JURY DELIBERATION stage and the verdict is unknown, this incident serves as a wake-up call for the whole of the community.

*For Faisal Shokaat:* It is a reminder that even the community he served could not offer a *simple congregational dua* in his time of need.

True alliances are built on truth and sincerity towards the creator and not in benefit and interest.

SKIRCOAT LODGE (Halifax) GROOMING GANG CONVICTED

On 26 Feb 2025, questions were raised at a Skircoat ward councillor forum about decades of child exploitation and abuse at Skircoat Lodge in Halifax. Attendees say councillors avoided giving clear answers. Two weeks later, Skircoat ward councillor Mark Barnes resigned.

The case has since progressed through the courts. Former staff member Malcolm Phillip was charged but deemed too ill to attend proceedings. Co-defendant Linda Brunning was found guilty on 23 Feb 2026 of indecent assault and aiding and abetting sexual offences following a trial at Bradford Crown Court.

The convictions follow a long investigation into abuse spanning more than three decades, raising ongoing questions about oversight and accountability in Calderdale.

CCOM failure to unite the Community on MOONSIGHTING & beginning of Ramadhan

Halifax, UK – Members of Halifax’s Muslim community are raising serious concerns about the Calderdale Council of Mosques (CCOM) and its longstanding failure to provide leadership on key religious and communal matters, most notably the sighting of the moon and the declaration of the first day of Ramadhan.

While the Ahle Hadith (Wahabis) and Sunniy Centre (Habashis) have reached consensus on moon sighting, there has been little to no guidance or communication from CCOM. For over a decade, the organisation has stated that uniting Halifax’s Muslims and masjids is a core objective. Yet on this fundamental issue, their absence of leadership has been stark and undeniable.

Accountability concerns extend beyond moon sighting. On 7 August 2024, CCOM invited Kate Dearden, a pro-Zionist Member of Parliament, into Madni Masjid, despite months of community campaigning to boycott Labour. Many feel such decisions have eroded trust in CCOM’s judgment and integrity.

The Muslims of Halifax are being urged to critically examine the objectives, leadership, and accountability of an organisation that represents them in public office and civic matters. There is growing concern that CCOM’s structure may have been set up in a way that makes effective leadership difficult, leaving the community without clear guidance. CCOM has been designed for failure.
