Re Post from Fiona Sunter (the OG is in the MTCA FB group - you're welcome to join)
" It was lovely to see in the Courier today, an article about the fantastic efforts that the It’s Your Neighbourhood Team have achieved. To have received a Level 3 (Advancing) award in the first year is brilliant.
I wanted to thank those involved in making our community a prettier place to live:
Julia Jane, who proposed the idea and organised it all, wrote the portfolio of evidence and was commended by the judge for the quality of the portfolio.
Christina Hooley, who ran and facilitated the Gardening Club on Saturdays, doing lots of preparation, planting of seeds and tending to them during a gloriously hot summer.
Millie Lumb, Amanda Lumb, Christine Luck, Barry and others for going to Gardening Club every week and for their support.
Simon, for his support at Gardening Club, for sorting some of the field edges out and planting wildflowers on newly created paths and for restoration works to some of the benches around the village.
Thanks should also go to Dan Lumb, who always supports by doing the lifting and shifting jobs behind the scenes.
Thank you to you all for some wonderful work to our village."
Thanks Fiona
The outcome is something to be really proud of, level 3 of 4 as our first attempt.
Perhaps the best comment is that we are "One to watch"
You will have seen what a difference it's made to the local area...
But this is also helped by those who help with litter picking, and getting involved in keeping that MTCA alive.
For now, time to enjoy the blossoms of our labours, before we plant the seeds for next year.
PLEASE add comments and let us know HOW you can get involved.
