Halifax YMCA and the Halifax YMCA Youth Pantomime are delighted to have received matched grant funding from The Yorkshire and Humberside YMCA Fund, which has helped support the purchase of a brand-new stage for the Youth Pantomime.

The funding has provided a fantastic boost to the young performers who take part in YYP, giving them a stronger, safer, and more professional performance space to develop their confidence, skills, and love of theatre. The new stage will be used by the Halifax YMCA Youth Pantomime for rehearsals, performances, and future productions, helping to create an even better experience for both the children on stage and the audiences who come to support them.

Since its creation, YYP has given young people the chance to experience all aspects of pantomime and theatre, from acting, singing, and dancing to teamwork, discipline, and performance skills. This new stage will play an important part in continuing that work for years to come.

Halifax YMCA and YYP would like to sincerely thank The Yorkshire and Humberside YMCA Fund for their generous support and for helping us invest in the future of youth theatre at Halifax YMCA.

Halifax YMCA Youth Pantomime Presents a Magical New Adventure: Once Upon a Pantomime

Halifax YMCA Youth Pantomime is delighted to announce its brand-new summer production, Once Upon a Pantomime, a magical family adventure packed with laughter, music, and classic pantomime fun.

When the magical ink that writes every fairy tale suddenly disappears, chaos spreads across Storyland. Pages begin to turn blank, characters wander into the wrong stories, and happy endings are in danger of being lost forever.

To save their stories, a group of well-known fairy-tale favourites must set out on an unforgettable quest. Joined by the brave Prince Jack of Beansville, the wonderfully outrageous Dame Dolly Bookmark, and her hilariously hapless son Bumble, the heroes journey through enchanted forests and mysterious lands to uncover the truth behind the missing magic.

Featuring beloved characters from classic fairy tales, toe-tapping songs, dazzling dance numbers, and plenty of audience participation, Once Upon a Pantomime promises a magical theatrical experience for audiences of all ages.

This exciting production showcases the incredible talent of the Halifax YMCA Youth Pantomime performers who return to their own dedicated theatre space at the Halifax YMCA. This continues the YMCA’s long tradition of bringing family theatre and community entertainment to Halifax.

Thank you to everyone that attended the 75th Anniversary Halifax YMCA Pantomime Society Children’s Party tonight at the YMCA. We all hope you had fun time, all the adults that helped arranged this party were also in fancy dress. A massive thank you to them for giving up their time to put on this amazing party. We will hopefully be seeing most of you tomorrow for the youth pantomime auditions.

We’ve got a very special couple of days ahead at the Halifax YMCA and we cannot wait to see you all!

🎉 Saturday – 75th Anniversary Children’s Party

Open to all current and previous Pantomime children up to 18 years old.

Seventy five years of pantomime magic deserves a proper celebration! If you’ve ever been part of our youth shows, this party is for YOU. Come along, catch up with friends old and new, and celebrate being part of something truly special.
