WE ARE HIRING. Sunny Bank Mills is looking for a new core member of our Arts Programming Team.

The Arts Programming Assistant will be a dynamic role based within the Gallery at Sunny Bank Mills but with a Mills- wide scope. The main focus of the role will be to unlock spaces for different cultural uses, such as exhibitions, residencies, meetings, rehearsals, events and long-term bookings.
People use the Mills for all sorts of creative projects, for example we have hosted pop-up exhibitions, filmed TV programmes and even had thousands of biscuits baked on site. This role will be the main point of contact for people wanting to use our spaces.
We are keen to work with someone who is confident working with multiple stakeholders including artists, audiences, makers, and commercial clients. The right candidate will be adaptable and have outstanding organisational skills.
They will take a lead on administrating our major events and be on hand during delivery to communicate with stall holders and the public. You will sit within the Arts Programming Team and will be encouraged to come up with new ideas for the programme and to act as an ambassador for the Mills at industry events and networking opportunities.
A day in the life of this job may look like:
Staffing the Gallery in the morning, speaking to customers about our exhibitions and making new connections for future opportunities. In the afternoon, hosting a school visit and making sure they navigate the site safely and have an outstanding experience. In the early evening, preparing a room for a theatre company which will be using it as rehearsal space the next day.
We are a small but mighty team which delivers an amazing programme, and we are looking for someone full of energy, ideas and with a real passion for making arts and heritage more accessible to all. This role will be best suited to someone with 1-2 years’ experience working in events and the cultural sector.
Contract:
Salary: £26,208
Full time (5 days a week/ 8 hours a day)
Some evening and weekend work required
30 days holiday including Bank Holidays
Onsite working required at Sunny Bank Mills, Farsley, Leeds
