Our cooking and baking sessions with Christie and Bob are properly growing, more laughs, more learning, and definitely more yummy food 😄✨ Whether it turns into a full‑on bake off with cakes flying around 🍰🔥 or a hearty chicken curry bubbling away on the hob 🥘💛, everyone gets stuck in.

These sessions are teaching real skills, confidence, teamwork, kitchen know‑how — all while making seriously tasty creations. Fun, messy, and delicious… just how we like it 😋👏

🌱🌿✨ Skillshop Needs a Green‑Fingered Volunteer! ✨🌿🌱

Got a bit of spare time and a love for all things fruit, veg and muddy boots? 🥕🍓👩‍🌾

We’re looking for a friendly volunteer to help our staff and Skillshoppers learn the ropes in our allotment, growing, planting, watering, weeding… the whole green adventure! 🌞🌱

Can you spare as little as 2 hours a week? ⏰💚
That’s all it takes to make a huge difference to our little allotment crew!

If you’ve got:

- A passion for gardening or allotments 🌿
- Patience, humour and a love of seeing things grow 🌻😄
- A willingness to get stuck in (and maybe a bit muddy) 🪴💚

…then we’d absolutely love to have you join us! Our group is enthusiastic, hands‑on and always up for learning something new 🌈✨

💌 For more info or to arrange a cuppa, a biscuit, and a wander around our amazing grounds — email [email protected] or call us on 01422 242777 📞☕🍪💛

🌳💛 Skillshop Out and About! 💛🌳

Yesterday we joined the Parks4All Walk & Wheel event alongside other brilliant local services and community groups. It was a lovely morning getting out in the fresh air, meeting people, and being part of an inclusive event that welcomed everyone 🌈✨

Our Skillshoppers enjoyed the walk, the friendly atmosphere, and the chance to get involved in something that brings the community together. A big thank you to the organisers and everyone who took part, it was great to be involved 💛

🌸🍑 Plum Picking at Skillshop

Our plum trees have done well this year, so the group spent the afternoon picking the plums we’ve grown in the garden.
Everyone got involved, collecting, sorting and getting them ready for the next step.

Once we were back inside, we used the plums to make a batch of fresh plum jam.

It was a straightforward, hands‑on activity and the group enjoyed seeing the whole process from garden to jar.

Another productive day in the Skillshop garden 🍑🌿

🌧️🌿 Our Garden After the Rain

After that hot spell, the rain has actually done our garden the world of good.

The plants have perked up, the soil’s easier to work with, and everything’s looking fresher again 🌱

And even with the drop in temperature (and the rain trying its best to stop us), our Skillshop gardening group has carried on.

A bit of drizzle doesn’t put us off, we’ve still been out there weeding, tidying and keeping things growing 💪🌧️
