Team Away Day! 💙

This year we’ve committed to getting our staff teams together every few months for some updates, networking and a bit of fun!

Our teams discussed job roles, current service offer across Calderdale, Bradford and Kirklees and got to hear about about some exciting developments…👀

The team got a sneak peak at our branding pack and were introduced to a new friend of Invictus! (More on that coming soon! 🤫)

We also had loads of fun with a few games from the world of Drama and a lunch of homemade goodies!

Thanks to all our team for bringing their passion and enthusiasm, the futures looking bright!

Last Wednesday, we brought together all of our leaders from our Bradford, Halifax and Kirklees sites for a fantastic Managers' Event. 💙

The day started with sharing some delicious breakfast treats before we came together to celebrate everything we've achieved as a team. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, reflect on our successes, and strengthen the relationships across our services.

There were plenty of laughs, some heartfelt moments, and even a few tears as we reflected on the incredible work our teams do every day to support the people in our communities. Moments like these remind us why we're so passionate about what we do.

Alongside celebrating our achievements, we also took part in valuable training focused on HR and staff wellbeing, giving our leaders the knowledge and tools to continue supporting both our colleagues and the communities we serve.

Together, we're building a supportive, compassionate workplace where our people and the young people we support can thrive. 💙

Meet the Team 💙

At Invictus Wellbeing, we're proud to have an incredible team dedicated to supporting children and young people with their mental health. Today, we're shining a spotlight on one of our amazing Play Therapists Maddie, who works with children up to the age of 12.

Here's what Maddie loves most about her role:

"One of the things I love most about play therapy is that no two sessions are ever the same. I might have ideas about where a session could go, but more often than not, the child shows me the way.

I love that it's child-led and person-centred. Children don't have to find the right words or answer lots of questions. They can communicate through play, creativity, imagination and relationship, at their own pace.

Time and again, I'm reminded of something we talk about so often in play therapy: play itself can be healing. When children are offered a safe, accepting space and an adult who is willing to follow their lead with curiosity and respect, amazing things can happen.

I'm also incredibly proud to work for a charity where this support is free at the point of access, helping more children and families receive therapeutic support when they need it most."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Every day, our team creates safe, nurturing spaces where children can express themselves, process their emotions and begin to heal through play. It's a privilege to walk alongside children and families on their wellbeing journey.

Are you aged 13–17? Want to make a difference and help shape the future?

We're looking for passionate young people to join the Invictus Wellbeing Youth Leader Programme and there's never been a more exciting time to get involved!

Our Youth Leader Programme is open to young people across Calderdale, Bradford and Kirklees, bringing together young people from across the region to make a real difference.

As an Invictus Youth Leader, you'll have the chance to:

✨ Make a real difference to young people's mental health and wellbeing
🤝 Meet new friends who share your passion for helping others
💬 Build your confidence and develop leadership and communication skills
🎨 Be creative by designing campaigns, projects and helping shape the future of the programme
📚 Gain valuable experience to boost your CV, college, university or future job applications
💙 Support fundraising activities and help us raise vital funds so more young people can access our services
📈 Progress through the programme, with the opportunity to work your way up to our Youth Advisory Board, helping to influence the future of Invictus Wellbeing at trustee level
🌟 Feel proud of the positive impact you're making in your community

This is more than just joining a programme – it's your chance to help create it.

We're completely redesigning our Youth Leader Programme, and we want young people to lead the way. From shaping the activities and opportunities available to helping choose a new name, a new logo and a fresh identity, your ideas will influence what the programme becomes.

So, if you're aged 13–17 and live in Calderdale, Bradford or Kirklees, this is your opportunity to have your voice heard, develop new skills and be part of something from the very beginning.

Ready to make your mark? We'd love to hear from you!

Our very own CEO, Danny, recently visited Trinity Academy to deliver an engaging wellbeing session for the school's Wellbeing Ambassadors.

The session focused on practical coping strategies for anxiety, while equipping the ambassadors with the skills and confidence to support the wellbeing of their peers.

Reflecting on the visit, Danny said: "It was great to be back at my old stomping ground. It was a real pleasure to meet such inspiring young people who are so passionate about making a positive difference to the wellbeing of others."

A huge thank you to Trinity Academy for the warm welcome. It's always inspiring to see young people championing mental health and creating supportive school communities. 💙

💙 Thank You Thursday 💙

This week's thank you goes to our incredible colleagues, Georgie and Jo, who took on the Tough Mudder last Sunday in support of Invictus Wellbeing!

Not only did they conquer the mud, obstacles, and miles, but they also raised an amazing £883.30 to help us continue delivering vital mental health and wellbeing support.

We're so grateful for your dedication, determination, and commitment to making a difference. You should both be incredibly proud of this fantastic achievement!

Please join us in saying a huge thank you and well done to Georgie and Jo. 👏💙

🎉 What a fantastic start to our 'Find Your Thing' programme last week! 🎉

Our first session brought together an incredible group of young people who took the first steps towards discovering more about themselves. Throughout the session, participants explored their personal strengths, set meaningful goals, built confidence, and connected with others in a supportive and welcoming environment.

It was inspiring to see everyone embrace new challenges, step outside their comfort zones, and get involved with such enthusiasm. The positive energy and willingness to try something new made for a brilliant first session, and we're looking forward to seeing everyone continue to grow over the coming weeks.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the session such a success. We're excited to continue supporting young people as they build confidence, develop new skills, improve their wellbeing, and discover opportunities that are right for them.

💙 There's still time to get involved! If you're looking to discover a new hobby, meet new people, improve your wellbeing, or connect with activities in your local community, we'd love to welcome you.

✅ Meet new people
✅ Learn new skills
✅ Build confidence and improve wellbeing
✅ Discover activities and opportunities in your community
