To everyone in the FND HBH community,
Firstly, I want to apologise for being quieter than usual over the past month. I also want to say a huge thank you to every single one of you. Despite everything, we’ve still managed to hold some lovely meet-ups, and thanks to your incredibly kind donations we’ve been able to provide cooling blankets, fans, and ice face masks to help people stay safe during the recent heat. Seeing the community come together like that has meant more to me than you’ll ever know.
Creating FND HBH has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. Being able to support others, offer a listening ear, and build a place where people felt understood has been a privilege.
However, the month I’ve spent away has given me time to reflect. I realised that while I’ve dedicated so much of myself to supporting everyone else on their journeys, I’ve neglected my own. The truth is that I’m still very early on in my own FND journey, and I’ve been trying to carry everyone else’s struggles while not properly dealing with my own.
Unfortunately, alongside the positives has come negativity, criticism, and personal attacks. When you’re giving everything you have to help others, only to have your character questioned or torn apart, it becomes incredibly difficult. It has affected me far more than I ever admitted, and instead of moving forwards in my own recovery, I’ve found myself going backwards.
Because of that, I’ve made one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make.
As of 8:00am tomorrow, I will be closing the FND HBH WhatsApp group and page.
My TikTok account will remain open, but from now on it will focus on my own personal journey, raising awareness through my own experiences, and simply being myself. If anyone would like to stay in touch, you’re more than welcome to keep me on Facebook, keep my number, or follow me on TikTok.
I know this decision may disappoint some people, and if you feel I’ve let you down, I am genuinely sorry. Please know this hasn’t been an easy choice, but I have to start putting my own health and recovery first.
This isn’t goodbye forever.
FND HBH isn’t ending it is simply being put on pause. I truly believe it will return one day, but only when I’m in a stronger place mentally and physically and able to give it the time and energy it deserves.
Thank you for every conversation, every message, every meet-up, every donation, every laugh, and every person who helped make this community what it became. I will always be incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.
Take care of yourselves, and thank you for being part of this journey.
❤️ Jordan
