Today, Pete and Julian delivered our Banter Workshop to Year 4 and 5 pupils at Straits Primary School.

The workshop helps children understand the difference between friendly banter and comments that can be hurtful, encouraging positive communication, empathy, and respect for others.

It was great to see so much engagement and thoughtful discussion throughout the session.

World Mental Health Day - 10th October 2026
This years theme is 'lived experiences heard: real voices, real change'.

Every mental health journey is different, and behind every experience is a story that deserves to be heard. This World Mental Health Day, let’s make time to listen, learn from one another and create spaces where people feel comfortable sharing how they really feel.

Listening without judgement, showing understanding and taking people’s experiences seriously can help break down stigma and make a meaningful difference.

It’s especially important that children and young people know they don’t have to navigate their mental health alone. Support is available, and reaching out is a positive step. 💚

Soluna by Kooth is a free mental health platform for children and young people, offering one-to-one text chats with qualified practitioners, self-help tools and moderated peer communities. It provides a space for young people to explore their feelings, access support and connect with others.

This World Mental Health Day, let’s make sure young people’s voices are heard, their experiences are valued and their needs help shape the support available to them.

Over the past few weeks, members of the Phase Trust team have attended a range of specialist training sessions delivered by Phoenix Psychology, covering topics including Autism, ADHD, CBT, Learning Disabilities, and Speech & Language.

We are committed to continuous learning and professional development, ensuring we have the knowledge and skills needed to provide the best possible support to children, young people, and families in our community.

This week, we held our annual Phase Trust Staff Conference as we prepared for the start of a new academic year.

Throughout the week, we spent time listening to speakers, engaging in discussions, and reflecting on both our work and wellbeing. It was a valuable opportunity to come together as a team, reconnect with our purpose, and reflect on the impact of the work we do with children, young people and families.

The conference provided a chance to learn from one another, support each other, and refocus on what matters most as we head into a new year.

As always, we rounded off the week with a team day, enjoying a game of adventure golf followed by lunch together. ⛳️

What a wonderful day we had at Barry Island yesterday! ☀️🏖️

We hope all the families who joined us had a fantastic time making memories at the beach.

A massive thank you to Benefact Trust and the Black Country Food Bank for funding the trip and making it possible for families to spend quality time together and create special memories.

We’re also incredibly grateful to Jo's Baguette Bar for the delicious packed lunches, Johnsons Coaches for ensuring a comfortable and safe journey, and our amazing team and Lifecentral Kids staff and volunteers, whose hard work helped make the day so special.
