It’s been 25 years since Explorers were launched in 2002 - a new section designed for Millennials.

Today The Scouts is relaunching the Explorer section for our 50,000 14-18 year olds. With a new programme, new activity and challenge badges and new branding this ensure its more relevant to today’s youth than it ever has been and really is a place to belong.

The last two weekend have seen our Explorers and Network Scouts busy at two events fundraising and helping to raise the profile of Scouting in Eastbourne District.

Last weekend we were at Music in the Park in Willingdon offering “have a go” soft Axe throwing and Archery sessions, glitter tattoos and our famous Duck 🦆 Tombola.

Today it was Eastbourne Pride in the town centre where we lead the flag procession and again we had the Ducks in full force with our regular ones being joined by some special pride ones 🏳️‍🌈

Well done to all the Scouts who helped and thank you to the members of public who supported us as we continue to fundraise for Switzerland 🇨🇭 next year ⚜️🫡

It’s June which means Happy !

Did you know that Team Bravo ESU scarf colours were born out having a district unit to symbolise a place where young people could attend and be themselves without being judge in safe space?

What an iconic scarf it has become!

Scouting is an all inclusive, values based movement and membership is open to all those who share our fundamental values ❤️

Our KISC 2027 Explorer and Network contingent have had a busy May fundraising towards our international summer camp next year.

Two weeks ago they were in Asda bag packing and today on the hottest weekend so far this year they attended and paraded along the seafront with lots of other local charities and businesses to support Eastbourne’s Carnival.

Whilst both events were important in helping to raise funds for our trip to Kandersteg International Scout Centre 🇨🇭they also provided a good opportunity to showcase Scouting in our local community.

Thank you and well done to all those who supported both events 🙏🫡

has served Scouting in the UK since 2018 designed to prepare more young people with skills for life, focusing on growth, inclusivity, youth-shaped, and community impact.

Like any organisation The Scouts has to continually ensure Scouting is relevant to today’s young people and with this in mind change is coming…….

Building on and including Skills for Life but making Scouting even more relevant in today’s changing world we are excited about the path ahead ensuring Scouts is accessible and offering a “Place to Belong” to all young people across the 🇬🇧
